OKC is in fire sale mode.
Yes, and they are just got Gallinari to start at that position, so Grant is expendable.

I’m tempted to troll them by asking if they would trade SGA into our $4m trade exception.
They could get a brand new shiny Cavs 2020 first out of it.

Free agent forward JaMychal Green is finalizing a two-year, $10M deal to return to the Los Angeles Clippers, with a second-year player option, league sources tell @TheAthleticNBA.
Nice pick up for the Clippers. I wouldn't go so far as to call JaMychal Green an AD stopper, but he has often made AD work hard for what he gets.

That team is incredibly deep.

Jabari Parker is signing a two-year, $13M deal with the Hawks, with a player option in year two.

And like that, cap space in the league is now gone.
Atlanta was the last team standing and they only had about $11m left. This takes up about half of what they had left.

Once guard Avery Bradley clears waivers today, he plans to sign a two-year, $9.7M deal with the Los Angeles Lakers, his agent Bill Duffy of @BDA_Sports tells ESPN. Bradley will have a player option on the second season.

Wow. Bradley’s done at this point.
West had to trade him away from the Clip Show in order to stop Rivers from putting him out on the court.

Based on conversations among player, agent and team, Oklahoma City for the first time is receptive toward trade calls on franchise star Russell Westbrook, league sources tell @TheAthleticNBA @Stadium.
This is based upon relationships on all sides — Russell Westbrook, agent Thad Foucher and GM Sam Presti — and collaborating together and examining alternative solutions. Trade timing is challenging this late in the summer due to salaries frozen across NBA from free-agent deals.

Heat are going to have to do some real cap gymnastics to get this done under the hard cap. I think Dallas might get Olynyk/Jones after all.

They had to use their cap somehow. Doubt he’s more than an end of the bench guy for them. They draft 2 talented SF. I’ll be shocked if he’s anything more than a contract to them.

Why would the Thunder send him to the Heat?
They have a 2021 unprotected Heat pick an an additional protected Heat pick. Anything that makes them better impacts their return off the PG13 trade.

The options are limited. My guess is since it’s late in the FA period, both sides will have to make compromises if they intend to have Westbrook moved before the season starts. I don’t see OKC getting good value for Westbrook.

Detroit and Orlando are both believed to be in the mix.
Drummond and Blake Griffin are both huge salaries which could be involved in such a trade, especially if Adams goes with Westbrook. And Blake did play college ball at Oklahoma.

Westbrook for Chris Paul works perfectly. Why would either side do this? The Rockets get a guard better suited to play with Harden and OKC gets to shave a year off of that horrendous contract.

I think Westbrook is going to have a good bit of input on where he goes even with his contract. I don't know if he wants to go to Detroit after dedicated himself to OKC. Maybe Orlando. Maybe the Knicks.
I forgot about them having the Heat picks, but there are limited teams who need a star and would be interested in Russ where Russ would want to go:
Houston
Miami
Orlando
Detroit
Minnesota
San Antonio?
Phoenix?
Out of those, does Russ want to go to Detroit or Minnesota? Does Phoenix think he can mesh with Booker?

The Knicks aren’t an option until January and it looks like this deal will be done soon if possible.
A lot of those other teams may be limited by what they can send back as well.
Trying to match Westbrook’s $38.5m contract is going to be an issue.
