After all he did for the team, shameful.Maybe a video tribute would be more fitting. They could make a compilation of him dropping open passes. So long 'Hands of Stone'.

An appreciation for what? That one jump shot he had against Minnesota a few years back? Or the constant fumbles and misses?

To be fair, his first game as a pel was really amazing. He put everything he had in that 1 single game lol

Would just be a bunch of shots of him on the bench in different suits.

I appreciate that we cost us millions of dollars and three first-round picks. That's impressive.

Need a memorial video when he comes back to the SKC of dropped passes, missed dunks and air balled free throws. Godspeed Omer.

I don’t think I’ve ever been so excited to see someone leave a team I like, outside of when Jordan Jefferson graduated.

It's not like he balled out then went in the tank when he got paid. He just found a desperate sucker who had to justify his trade. Less robbery and more moron who gave out a $40 million tip because the waitress smiled at him.

Can we get a picture of the Asik fans with the "Nobody Beats Asik" sign?

He did have a great nickname - The Turkish Hammer. It's a shame it never worked out with him.

Frick the haters, I still got mad love for Asik.
Was he overpaid? Maybe, but would any of you turn down the contract?
Was it his fault he had health issues? That just affirms him as a true Pelican.
Asik was never meant to be a primary scorer. He’s there primarily to rebound, which he has done well. He sets great picks - he’s a big body and you never see him standing around. Always hustling to screen for other guys. And he has done well defensively too. I will never forget the last few minutes against the Spurs in a must-win game that put us in the playoffs a few seasons back. Asik made some critical plays at the end of that game. Go back and watch the film.

Still proudly displaying my Asik-signed Pels ball in my gameroom.
I’ll miss you, Turkish Hammer.

He was a key contributor during our only playoff team in the AD era.

Faults? Plenty
But you could never say he didn't give his all. He had a huge role and impact for montys system.

Length and value of his contract is on dell Demps, not him
