SONS

frickING BREATHE. DONT HOLD YOUR BREATH WHEN IT COMES TO THIS TEAM. ITS AN 82 GAME SEASON. WE'RE STILL IN CHAPTER ONE OF THE BOOK, AND WE DONT KNOW IF ITS GONNA END WELL OR REALLY DUMB LIKE THE HARRY POTTER BOOKS, LIKE REALLY, NEVILLE GETS TO DESTROY THE FINAL HORCRUX? STICK TO HATING TRANNIES JK. JESUS.

WE PLAY OKC, BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY, WE'RE PLAYING AGAINST OURSELVES. CAN WE GET THIS GROUP OF FAIRLY NEW PLAYERS TO COMMINICATE ON DEFENSE AND ROTATE, CAN OUR 3PT SHOOTING IMPROVE? ZION SHOULD BE AVERAGING ABOUT 6 AST PER GAME RIGHT NOW, BUT WE'VE BEEN REBUILDING THE 9TH WARD WITH ALL THE frickING BRICKS WE'VE PUT UP THIS YEAR.

THANKFULLY ZION WAS ON A PLANE YESTERDAY INSTEAD OF TRICK OR TREATINGS. PELS BY 12.

I hate his playstyle. Hope they give him a nice hard foul early in the game and make him second guess leaning into everything all night.

I lowkey hate the Thunder after last season. Giddey's smug face makes my blood boil. Hope we beat them by 45.

I really want to see Chet v Zion. Jokic used his weight against him, I feel Zion will do the same. He’ll get some blocks but Zion will run him over too.

We should be able tor un Chet off the court, as OKC is kinda screwed on using him.

I'm gonna zag, where as I usually say to stagger Zion/Jval as much as possible but I'll go the other way tonight. IF you play both of them, then Chet has to guard one of Zion or Val.

Chet won't guard Zion, that'll be JWill. I'd definitely have some concerns on Chet helping on Zion just like JJJ does. Chet doesn't have to worry about Zion being physical since he's off balsa nd we know he's good at shot blocking.

So that's when we'd turn to giving the ball to Val in the post with Chet guarding him. We should feast on any minutes of Zion/Val together with Chet on the court.

Jokic went off on OKC. Holmgren's line was OK. But Jokic destroyed them. They have no size. Val (and Zion) should feast. That should be the focus all night..

I think to me the Zion/Chet battles may come during Zion small ball lineups. If its Jalen its a decided advantage but like you said you worry about Chet help. Completely, agree JV needs to be a force as others have said and be on court with Zion in this one. JV has had 2 pretty bad games. He needs to score and rebound here. The girth advantage here by the pelicans is pretty substantial.

I am really trying not to be a nega pel tbh

But this is one of these matchups that we probably will get blown out in. OKC is Just a better and deeper team, especially with some of our key guys out.

The only chance we have is if Zion replicates his game against Minny and I don’t think he’s there yet conditioning or confidence wise. He’s still feeling these games out.

I don’t agree with you at all here. Shai to me is the only elite scorer/player on this team. Dort is a good defender. Chet/Jalen are talented/young players but not elite. We should be able to beat this team. If we get blown out with all 3 of our major stars playing- thats a big disappointment in my eyes. Especially coming off that loss to the Warriors.

Pels need to dominate in the paint.

Point Zion all night.

Herb needs to stay out of foul trouble.

This is the path.

So...Dyson needs to guard SGA half the time...at least in the 1st half. Let Herb float & rest a bit...be ready for crunch time.

Which imo, is the major value Dyson will bring to the team eventually, once he's out there with Herb.

Prediction

SGA gets breathed on and Herb gets called for a flagrant 2.

Zion gets arse raped by 7 guys in the paint and not a foul called.

Not sure why but it be like it be but it be.

Brandon Ingram Update: Pelicans F Brandon Ingram was listed as questionable with right knee soreness in a game that kept him out on Monday.

Ingram was able to practice yesterday.

The plan for Ingram is to test out his knee in shoot-around.

If the soreness level isn’t bad, Ingram has plans to play.

It was indicated to me that his availability vs. Thunder is a game time decision.

Yeah, he ain’t playing

He wasn’t in the afternoon shoot around photos… he ain’t playing.

There’s no good angle here.. not toughening up and playing due to ‘soreness’ …or genuinely being ‘injured’ after 2 games… neither a good look.
