Huge Pels fan here but I have to say. Portlandia is the funniest show on TV. Check it out. It totally destroys West Coast SJW's. Go Fred & Carrie!

Great W tonight. Got blitzed early and this team managed to fight back on the road again. Seems we play our best ball lately when we spot the other guys a big lead early. Very odd.

It’ll be interesting to see if we can shore up the interior defense. Cousins doesn’t have the closing speed of Davis, and it feels like we saw more shots at the rim tonight.

No. Asik and Dante were the other bigs. Asik did ok shutting down the paint on drives and getting rebounds. Diallo would have gotten 3-4 fouls if he got Asik’s minutes.

Just saw where AD is getting a second opinion. Did they come out and say how long he is out?

I honestly think this team needs to bring in a really skilled flopper. Or at least a highly respected acting coach(like some soccer teams have done).

Dead serious.

Look at Eric Gordon. Everyone was so frustrated with how little he could get to the line compared to his early career while with the Pelicans/Hornets. Fine, many argued it was because of the injuries. I believed it as well. But look at him in Houston after a season with Harden. He's averaging nearly two more FTA's per 36 than his last season with the Pels and his first season in Houston. And you watch him and you just see the exaggerations and acrobatics that weren't present in New Orleans. Jrue desperately needs to be coached into developing those prized flopping skills.

I’m expecting AD to be out over a month. I hope I’m wrong

You aren’t wrong. It was a non-contact groin/pelvis injury where he had to be carried off the court. It required an MRI after which they wouldn’t release the results, but he was on crutches at Portland last night.

It has every appearance of a multiweek or even multi-month injury. I would guess if he is getting a second opinion, the first docs told them surgery is needed for repair.

I don't think they need lessons in flopping, they just need to get it in their heads that it's ok to flop. As Joel and David were lamenting the fact that Jrue never gets calls last night I was wondering what fouls they were talking about. From my angle I didn't see an obvious foul and Jrue didn't seem physically disturbed by his defender. That's part of the problem for Cousins too. He's strong enough that there isn't always an equal and opposite reaction, and the officials make calls based on reactions as much as actions.

This is not true. Last season with Houston he averaged 2.3 fta per game which was the second lowest of his career.

This season he is averaging 4.8 per game, which is higher than his last 3 seasons with the Pelicans, but it’s because he has made a concerted effort to attack the rim this season. Not just that, but he seemed to have regained some of his explosiveness this season that he hasn’t had for years. I don’t know what he did over the summer, but he is attacking the rim and using new-found athleticism to draw fouls.
