While I don't post here much, I read a lot of your posts. You seem to be a smart, well informed person.

You also seem to be the kind of person who thinks every opinion or idea floated around here is the worst thing ever unless you came up with it.

Just an observation.

Carry on folks.

This team needs defense. Noel is the premier defensive big man.

Yet Monty always mentioned our need to improve perimeter and wing defense specifically.

Even if he only cleans up garbage on offense, his defense will help the team this season

This is where I get to disagree completely. He will provide very little this season.

im running is one of the best and easiest ways to get points. Its a great skill to have. Now, will Monty quicken the pace is another story.

So, which rim running center plied his trade in the conference finals this year? Gasol? Hibbert? Duncan and Splitter? I can't even think of Bosh doing much running.

Well that was kind of my point

I know that was your point, and that's what I was laughing at. It's a laughable point. To say that a guy's floor is a borderline all-star is kind of silly. That's serious hyperbole.

Larry Sanders was a borderline all-star?

First I have heard of this

Chad Ford polled GM's and scouts. After compiling scores, big board goes: Oladipo, Noel, McLemore, Bennett, Porter, Len, CJ, Zeller, Burke

Tells me: Oladipo falling to 6 is a pipe dream. Porter being there at 6, however, is very much in play

A few months back I looked at Ford's track record and the last 5 years he's gotten 1 and 2 right in his final mocks from what I remember. This isn't his final mock, but it does suggest the rumors of Len rising and Noel falling may be wrong.

The funny thing is that Ford says he used the same GMs to put together his top 100 and the order is different.

Porter may not be the "sexy pick", but he sure fills a major hole for us.

What about off the court implications?

We have seen what happens with disgruntled superstars. Pairing AD with his pal Noel could keep AD happy and comfortable in NOLA.

Having another likeable big man with quirky traits will certainly be embraced by Pels fans, especially kids. In this upcoming rebrand year, it could be beneficial to have another selling point to further push season ticket sales.

Noel seems to be big in giving back to the community. We see how far that went for guys like CP3 and Chandler before they left the city.

Seems like having "twin towers" from the same school, one with the brow and one with the flatop, could be a great marketing opportunity for the team, both locally and nationally. Surely it would result in a few ESPN games and constant highlights on Sportcenter.

In my opinion, winning will go farther in gaining new fans than any PR ploy like that. If that's why you're drafting him, our front office is in trouble.

Watching the little Sportscenter expose on the 2003 draft and the questions about Wade definitely kind of cemented Oladipo's place for me. The guy just seems like the type of spark plug that could really alter your franchise.
