I think they run to the podium and take Noel. It would be a trade asset more than anything.

I just don't see the fit with Davis, but he is EXTREMELY talented, and big men with that kind of talent are usually worth the risk in such a weak draft...if for nothing more than a very nice trade asset.

It is not what I want to happen...but if he's there, that is what happens.

That would be extremely depressing. The whole time Phoenix would be on the clock, I'd be repeating "please take Noel please take Noel please take Noel" to myself. I'd then feel crushed and switch to "please take Burke please take Burke please take Burke."

I think Gyno would pee himself with excitement

12. OKC - CJ McCollum

McCollum going to OKC would be scary. Not totally sold on him yet, but I can't imagine a better environment for him to grow than learning from KD and Westbrook.

If the top 5 went like that we'd have to take Noel, he is too talent to pass up at 6.

Can you imagine a future of Wiggins, Davis, and Noel?

Is he really THAT talented? I keep seeing people imply he's some super talent, but I just don't see it. He's a rangy defensive 5 with little offensive skill. There's clearly some ceiling there, but there's also a floor to be concerned about. Not saying he won't last in the league, but he's far from an "OMG CAN'T MISS" prospect.

It's definitely an interesting scenario. Just by looking at Noel, I feel like he can retain muscle mass better than Davis, and should be able to pack on more muscle mass.

I remember one of the Hornets' assistant coaches last year talking about Davis saying he can put on a few lbs of muscle over a couple of weeks, and then it's gone a week later because of his high metabolism.

Just playing devil's advocate for those who don't see Davis and Noel as a good fit. What type of Center do you see as a good fit next to Davis?

Are you calling Noel a Tank Pick?

yes, i said last week, he'd have the least impact in the nba the first 2-3 of the top prospects.

I see Noel as being a potential Tyson Chandler.

By that, I mean he will be mainly a defensive presence but could end up scoring some if properly fed close to the rim, such as the CP3 to Chandler "Crescent City Connection".

He's not necessarily exciting, but I can see him developing before the end of his first contract and talent like him is something we likely won't see in the mid-1st, which is where I think we'll be in 2-3 seasons.

No offense, but I think it's the exact opposite. AD has broad shoulders to fill into. I don't see the same in Noel.

He's a year older, but it's pretty clear from this pic that he has a wider frame:

Being out the first 2-3 months of the season tends to have that effect.

he's lankier than AD and Noel is more of a true 5 than AD. It's going to take him 2 years just to get there physically.

Who did very little to help the Bulls and took 5 or 6 years to become a solid player. Tyson Chandler is also 1.5 inches taller and definitely has a wider frame (broad shoulders similar to AD).

Tyson is Noel's ceiling, in my opinion.

If he is there at 6 we have to take him, only because is name is Nerlens. No way we can pass on the marketing potential of "Nerlens in New Orleans".

Yes. He's pretty damn talented. This is just the eyeball test to me, but he looked to run the floor better than Davis and to have more explosion in his leaps (a lot more to me, actually). He also was, believe it or not, a better shot blocker.

Is he as skilled as Davis was? No, not close.

He'll never be the offensive player that I think Davis can be.

I also think he definitely has the ability to put on some weight. He's already at 218-220-ish while rehabbing from a major knee injury. Davis played at 220-225 for us. I think (again, pure speculation), that Noel will be 230-ish by the time the season starts.

I'll reiterate that he's not my favorite prospect at all and I have argued against him if we got a top 3 pick. At 6...it would be hard to pass up.
