NBA Training Camps
Posted by Earthquake

The nba training camps starts in about 3 weeks, September 28th.
What are some of the things you are looking for when the Pels starts camp?
Pesonally i am looking to see how all the wing players will fit, we have a boat load of players in the 6'7 to 6'9 range.

The battle b/w NAW and Devonte(And Kira as a dark horse) for the starting P.G. slot.

Who are you assuming starts at the 2?
Maybe I’m wrong but I think they both start, don’t really see anyone on the roster who should start over NAW at the 2.

Possibly hart
Which would make sense if he could shoot 3s 37%

Hart’s contract looks made to trade, I don’t see them starting him and taking that opportunity away from someone who is going to be with the team long term.

I see letters but can’t make them out. Perhaps a meme will be easier to decipher.

The offense. I believe we stole D’Antoni from the Nets by offering a cushy work from home schedule. He’ll literally be phoning it in later in the season so they need to get the offense implemented and executing early.

Counter-point: they start him to maximize his trade value.

Trey, BI and Devonte should all fit that role.
I'm most curious to see how NAW and Jaxson look this year and also who wins the backup PG role between Kira and Sato. I think Sato gets more minutes early on.

We know that BI, Zion and Val or starting.
I don't think anyone knows who the other two starters are just yet, but i'd lean vey heavily towards Devonte starting. They wouldn't have gone after him and given him that contract if they didn't expect him to start. So that leaves a wing position for either Hart, NAW, Naji or Murphy to start at.
If Murphy is a legit defender, then i'd prefer to start him b/c i want him out there shooting with the starters, and there won't be much pressure on him as a starter playing with Zion and BI. Basically just be Lonzo, find an open spot on the court and wait for your wide open 3.
NAW needs to produce this year, and it shouldn't matter if he's starting or coming off the bench b/c the expectation is for him to play heavy minutes and be an integral part of the offense regardless.
And i'd like to see lineups of Kira/NAW/Hart/Naji/Hayes coming off the bench b/c of the energy they all bring, and that is important with your second unit. That 5 man lineup somehow never played a single minute together. You can find combinations of 4 man lineups with those guys, especially ones involving Hart/Hayes/Kira that have great +/- numbers.
That's how you win more games. You have a second unit that brings tons of energy and keeps you in the game for your starters to close it out, and we did that last year minus the closing out part.

I totally agree there's absolutely no pressure in starting a rookie on a losing team that needs to make the playoffs. Graham and NAW are going to be the starters. I can see Hart maybe starting depending on how he plays/ matchups but NAW has the higher ceiling and needs to be let loose in order to evaluate him. There's way less pressure keeping Murphy on the bench and seeing what we have to work with to start the season.

Teddy i like your 2nd unit, except i believe Murphy will be with the 2nd group and NAW will start.
2nd unit:
Hayes
Naji
Hart
Kara
Murphy
Murphy and Hart will bring defense, while Kara, Hayes, and Naji bring the hustle.
I also believe Sato will squeeze out some minutes especially early in the season.
