Atlanta wants to find a 3rd team to take on D’Angelo Russell in order to complete a Dejounte Murray trade with the Lakers, per @ShamsCharania “It centered around D’Angelo Russell, a 2029 first round draft pick, and a pick swap I’m told. The hold up was that Atlanta wanted to find a third team for D’Angelo Russell.” (Via @RunItBackFDTV / h/t @Joe_Schmidt07)

I will go to the papers and riot.

Yeah agree. Think about this they paid a ransom for him and are willing to unload him for peanuts. Theres probably a reason for this.

They gave up a protected charlotte 1st that will never convey and turn into 2 2nds, 2 1sts and a swap.

Looks like they'll get back a 1st and a swap so they're only out 1 1st and 2 2nds after its all said and done.

Not that bad for taking a shot on Murray, hell we spent a 1st and 4 2nds to trade for and dump Graham

Yeah, he's apparently not a great locker room guy and now he'll be under the bright lights of LA. We'll see how he handles being the 3rd fiddle and being blamed for all the Lakers problems. I suspect he wont handle it well

He will handle it fine for a few months, look like trash next year, and they will trade him for a king's ransom next year

fricking sigh

I seriously do not get it

That 2029 1st may be the best they can get for Murray. 2029 may very well be some dark times for the Lakers with Bron retired and AD having moved on.

Also, take a guess as who Murray's agent is... Rich Paul

I think part of the problem is he’s stated Dyson was a bust or we shouldn’t have drafted him in the past. Pretty sure he’s made that statement on here. So taking that into context, his posts make sense.

I don’t know man. Losing a first round pick just to try out dejounte murray on your team seems like a wasted asset. The Hawks basically accepted sunk cost and moved on.

I disagree, it was worth a gamble it just didnt work out. There are worse players you could use a 1st on than Dejounte Murray. Look no further than Steven Adams or Devonte Graham

Just cause David Griffin does dumb shite doesn’t mean its ok for Hawks to throw away a first to try out Dejounte. Those deals were also dumb by Griff.

The Lakers never learn their lesson. They just add talent that doesn't fit and has character flaws.

Lakers are losing their best shooter.

I didn’t realize Russel was shooting as well as he has this season.

If he keeps that up he would be a good flamethrower for someone off the bench

Its weird. He’s extremely streaky. Like overall it looks good but some games he completely disappears. If you’re fan, having him on your team can be frustrating as hell.

Every team looks at the Lakers as a ticking bomb just waiting to go off. FOs are happy to help them make these moves because they want to be the one holding the bag when the music eventually stops. Are problem is that our ticket is just a bit too early

He just doesn't play winning basketball.

We have a guy like that who shoots worse from 3, I wonder if we could swap them and get a few extra firsts and a couple young players for our trouble?

Ingram for d Murray would be a terrible trade if all you get extra is one or two firsts. What young players do the Hawks have?

Jalen Johnson is having a breakout year, and is a good candidate for Most Improved Player.
6'8" 21 year old picked 20th in his 3rd year and he's shooting 39% from 3 averaging 15/8

BI for Murray/Johnson/Okongwu trade isn't a crazy idea, although that's something i'd rather do in the offseason after we see what we look like in the playoffs.

Hawks have stated they’re not trading Trae or Jalen. Basically they’re untouchables.
