Not specifically about Dejonte but are we going to ever trade the bunch of first round picks that we have? I don’t really understand Griffs strategy in hoarding the picks and not using them even for separate additions to the team here or there.

Last three drafts we’ve added Trey, Herb, Dyson and Hawkins. Not to mention Jose as undrafted. There is no reason for us to give picks away without good reason. Especially as we get tighter and tighter on the luxury tax.

There really wasn't a deal to be had involving JV and actually receiving a quality Center back. Our hands are tied and it was the correct decision.

You can barely find room in the rotation for Hawkins. You cant keep drafting guys while trying win a championship. Eventually you trade those picks to tune your roster. Trading for win now guys is not throwing away picks.

Find it hard to believe Naji will resign.
they obviously weren’t offered anything for Naji by himself…he would have been part of something else. So if they don’t re sign him so what. He wasn’t worth trading for

JV could have easily been traded as an expiring if nothing else plus he can play. Now that the deadline has passed I would say it’s 50/50 that he either is offered a new deal or they let him walk to clear the books of his salary. If they let him leave that will be a poor use of resources, so a sign/trade might be the answer on draft day

I didn’t necessarily want a quality center, just someone young-ish and not on an expiring

Allowing JV's contract to just leave the books would be absolute malpractice. It's either sign or sign/trade.

Eh I think they could have got a second for him. Keep not trading him in mind when Willie continously plays him over certain guys.

With Jonas I agree with what you’re saying but lets see what they do.

It will be my biggest melt ever, 100%. I would lose it in real life and would have to stop posing on here.

Disappointed in not getting Gafford. Thought that was very doable.

If that ends up being the case then I have no problem with this trade deadline

Unfortunately other teams are just as aware as we are that we can’t pay Naji this offseason, so no one was gonna try to trade for him individually

Basically this is exactly what Griff did with Lonzo. Never understood these non moves by him. Really strange.

A few years ago I made a thread saying we shoulda burned some or most of those picks on Spider when Utah was cleaning house. Of course almost all of the board disagreed. I thought he was the best star that would come available for the asking price. Now you have someone like Murray being the top prize of the trade market?

Haven't listened to the Zach Lowe pod yet but it seems he discusses the Pels, and the Hawks wanted either Herb+Dyson or CJ added to a deal.

Granted, that could be for Murray+OO perhaps, but nonetheless all things considered, Griff probably made the right call to stand pat.
