quote:LOL, I clicked on that to see what he said and saw that he posted around the same time as that tweet that Atlanta wants Gridd to do a BI for Murray and Capela trade and that it was not appealing to Griff. He agreed that Murray and Capela for BI would not be a good trade. Then it appears he is hinting today that the Pels would consider BI and DD for Murray and Capela. How would that be more appealing to Griff? Sometimes it is just hilarious.
I'll give Mac credit, this one is at least somewhat interesting:

Hes now shitting on Murray and acting like he won’t make us better even though we’re getting rid of BI. He literally had takes of getting rid of BI would make us a better team. We could get Jokic and the guy would hate on the pels.

I’ve been banging the Murray drum for a while now. But I always believed it would come in conjunction with a CJ trade too. I’m afraid we are going to do a BI + Nance for Murray + Capella trade and call it a day. A starting 5 of
Murray
CJ
Herb
Zion
Capella
Agreed. I really hope another team to acquire Capella or give us a young center is what's holding this up.
There were a few teams I believe interested in Capella but not sure what weight it holds. Houston already has Sengun/ Adams to dump. Magic have Wendell Carter and would be most likely IMO.
WC/ Murray for BI would be ight without costing any picks.
I just hope we don't get stuck with another temporary aging center that gives us leeway to not do shite at the position long term.

Frick that trade. Im not giving up Dyson for that shite. Id do BI and Nance for Murray and Capela

Yeah if it’s BI and Dyson for Murray and Capella and Atlanta is not sending picks with that, Griff needs to be fired on the spot

I don’t really get the overall Capella opinion. Strikes me like those that say CJ is cooked, even though he just beat his career averages in every statistical category.
Capella will be 30, and only one year remaining on his deal. Per 36 he was:
16 points, 14.8 rebounds and 2 blocks
He was 11th in the league in blocks. He also adds a vertical threat and spacing that we didn’t have with Jonas. To me, he’s a great place holder as we likely draft a center in this draft.
Plus, we would have his bird rights. I think we would have a great chance to resign him next offseason to a very friendly deal if we so choose.
Let’s say it like this. We could do way way way worse than him.

Im ok with Capela and drafting a center like Missi at 21. Capela is a nice expiring contract that you can take into the season and not be rushed to move. Then you flip him at the deadline with picks for a guy like Allen who isnt available right now in the offseason.
I think a CJ trade has to happen after an Ingram trade. Im not putting herb or trey on the bench for CJ. Either he accepts a 6th man role or we need to trade him

I think he's basically the defensive version of JV. Both guys are about the same level of talent, but Capela is defensively oriented and JV is offensively oriented

Capella has the same value as Nance is the problem. Sending BI and Dyson for Murray and Capella is just a ridiculous overpay on the Pels part.

Is it? Factor in BI wants 50/yr and Murray is going to make like half that while being fairly similar level of players, I would take that all day

I should’ve clarified. I don’t think Capella as a one-year stopgap is the worst option. What I don’t want though is just to get Capella and think our 5 position is set. I want to find some shooting from the big position to finally put around Zion.
Also, Cs take few years to develop in the league so I don’t think we can count on taking one at 21 and being set for next year.

Yes
None of what you said factors in to that, essentially you’re paying to dump Ingram.

I wish there was a way to get Trae. A guy I know that knows someone in the front office said that Zion had been pushing for Trae but that it appears to be falling on deaf ears.

I do not want Capella, but i wouldn't mind him for a year if we were to draft a center.
More importanly, i also don't want to start Murray/CJ/Herb and no Trey.
Hawks get BI and Suggs
Magic get CJ, Clarkson, #21 from Pels
Jazz get Capela, Hawkins, #18 from Magic
Pels get Murray, WCJ, Kessler, Bogdanivich, #29 from Jazz
then once FA starts, send Larry to Philly in a S&T for Tobias Harris (3/$75M)
Murray/Jose
Herb/Bogdanich
Trey/Dyson
Zion/Tobias
WCJ/Kessler
We'd still just be at $150M with 13 players (not counting EJ and JRE, but counting the #29 pick)

I actually think it is, but it’s a deal I could at least stomach knowing we didn’t egregiously overpay.

Imagine not listening to the star you’re trying to build around. Every other NBA team would try to listen to their star player but not Griffin.

quote:Saw a post from an "insider" on a Hawks board say that from what he understands, the framework of a Murray trade to Pels is pretty much done. He said he assumes BI is coming back along with another piece. He said the final decision on the 5 going out (Capela or Okongwu) has not been finalized and may depend on whether the Hawks end up with Clingan tomorrow night. Take that with a huge grain of salt as an unsubstantiated rumor (as I do not know how much of an "insider" the guy is).
