Not a shooter, though, so Pels Talk will reject him.
Shooting is everything on here unless it negatively impacts a counter argument about our starters.
Then defense is everything and we have plenty offense.
But we also need another shooting guard because of our lack of offense.
But our current shooters need to come off the bench.

. He's replace the Naji role.
People on here would be BEGGING for Naji to come back if he’s replaced by a guy thats 43% on 12 shots a game and 30% from 3 on 4 shots a game

Well that depends on how he plays. We don't need any of Sochan, Naji, Dyson taking many shots with this squad.
One of the reasons people are ok with Naji gone is for this exact reason.
If he's brought in for defense/ rebounding then he'd be great as a backup #4.
I feel like y'all try to envision these players taking 20 shots a game and then base the opinion solely on that.

I don’t see Sochan as a focal point of the offense. I see him as being the least competent shooter out there of the backups, so hopefully a center like Paul Reed is signed who has at least some range and isn’t limited to just the paint.

Collins (Spurs), WCJ (Magic), or Kessler (Jazz), with Paul Reed as a backup.

Well yeah one of these is a 3/4 and the other is a 4/5 so the need and view of the player is different.
Sochan, Barnes, etc were never going to be the focal point? Neither was Dyson even if he stayed.

You are legit looking at our #9-#10 in rotation. I'd expect him to be the 8-10th best shooter and he wouldn't be in the game to shoot. He'd be in the game as the 5th option, just like Dyson.
You cant just shrink a players impact by saying "they will be the worst out of that group" in one specific category. Literally someone has to every time a 5 man lineup is on the court.

I’m not saying “don’t get them”, I’m saying “balance the lineups to cover up their deficiencies”.

I don't know how you take that from this statement.
Our main target was always Allen and our plan B/ plan C was pretty much always Kessler/ WCJ.
Looks to me like the exact opposite and all (3) are still in play.

To me, its pretty clear that the Magic will trade WCJ somewhere.

I understand. We have to set realistic expectations tho. Dyson/ Sochan, etc. We can't be upset that our 7,8,9th best players don't shoot like our 1,2,3rd best players... Some teams have players that CANT shoot but do other things well and fit their team.
Y'all treat non shooters like its best to round them up them and put them on their own team together that no one gives a shite about. Herb included if he didn't start developing a 3pt shot...
If he's already our 9th best shooter then the question shouldn't be "can he shoot" but "can he rebound", "can he defend", "can they facilitate".

We also want all of our players to shoot 45% from 3pt without acknowledging that we cant afford 10 players that shoot +40% and just about no team can.
You want players like Dyson/ Sochan who do 5 things well but can't shoot so you don't have to pay them 30mil like every other shooter.
Everyone loves Jose as our 7-8th best player. If he starts hitting 3's this year at 40% then yay for us, He's fricking gone the next year cause we can't afford him lol.

Theis, 1 year deal. Clear backup insurance.
Now we wait for the trade

The only good thing that came from all of this is that we technically can still get any (1) of WCJ/ Kessler without having to trade BI.
Kessler/ Theis/ Missi is NOT bad at all and we could still have BI to trade.
It would be a frick you to the NBA as in "we got our center, Murray, and STILL have BI"
Which may push teams on the edge to make a move for him.
