If Reed/ Theis hold their own and BI buys in with an extension then it will be pretty damn easy to move him at a very good value.

Lol no one is going to buy thats our answer at center. Nobody. Everyone will still think we need a center. We currently would have the worst center situation in the league.

Spotrac is correct, the 29.5 includes his trade kicker which goes against our cap sheet but is paid by Atlanta

It's probably the worst position group in the league. Not just C. I doubt it's close either.

I'm not sure what Murray's cap hit actually is. the FANSPO trade machine has him at $24.7, Hoops Hype has him at $25.2 and Spotrac has him at $29.5

It’s the 29 mill figure after the trade kicker.

If BI will take catch and shoot 3s, this problem will solve itself. The Pels should be able to build a pick your poison offense and outscore teams.

One aspect of Murray's game that hasn't been discussed much, in his San Antonio days, he was a near Josh Hart level rebounder. That will help a lot.

Maybe. But our current coach is Willie Green. He’s going to keep focusing on defense and not run up the score offensively. Like I said there are just so many issues to keeping BI and going with crap centers. We don’t even have the right coach to do that.

BI said a PG would help with 3s. I took that comment to mean he’s not opposed to taking the ball out of his hands. The question is no longer can BI run the offense, it’s can Murray.

I just took it as an excuse for not shooting 3s. I think there comes a time we need to accept who and what a player is. He’s not a high volume 3pt shooter and thats ok hes still a good basketball player but this inclination every year to turn him into something either he doesn’t want to do or is not comfortable doing is a huge part of this organization’s problem.

Go back and look at Ingram’s 3PA and % when he had Lonzo ball, an actual PG.

He refuses to move around when he's off ball.

What does not having a PG have to do with basic off ball movement?

Go back and look at last 3 years of data on the player. Also Zion is one of the best players in getting other players open 3s. And if a player requires a pg to help him shoot more 3s maybe hes not worth the money you’re paying him.

Absolutely nothing. Just an excuse. Instead of saying he needs to shoot more 3s and change his game, he blames the lack of pg.

I really wonder if BI has any self-awareness.

Like does he see that literally no other team values him highly and it is 100% his fault?

Yep, Trey, Herb, and CJ were all able to raise their 3PAs this past year. CJ and Herb also had career high 3P%. All without a PG

BI somehow missed the memo

What the huh? Lonzo was not what I would consider an "actual PG". He was more of a connector, and transition passer.

I think everyone on this board has a different definition for a point guard.

I took it as he is trying to make an excuse for being pissy that Zion took primary ball handling duties over him.

If he starts shooting them again he will say “Look we needed a PG” when it should have always been him playing off Zion

Maybe, but by the time that Lonzo was traded it felt like it was pretty much accepted that Lonzo was a great transition passer, but was more of a spot up option in halfcourt situations. He definitely was not a traditional halfcourt iso or pick and roll PG.

Zion and Murray were 9th and 10th in 3 point assists. BI shouldn't have nearly as much choice in the shots he gets if he's still here. I would rather trade him sooner than later, but you have to play the hand you're dealt. If he's still here then the plan has to be to take the ball out of BI's hands to force him into the off ball role he should be capable of excelling at.

Part of the reason I like Murray's fit much more than BI's isn't just the ball handling, but that he had already gone through the adjustment of shifting from #1 to #2. BI only showing he can be a bad #1 is surely part of the reason why there isn't much interest. If you can show teams BI can play a role well, their risk goes down and his trade value will go back up.
