What you quoted is literally factual. It was not my opinion.

Sure, lets start cherry-picking numbers because Pels certainly weren’t bottom 5 bad all last year while Zion was out.
Last year was last year and not relevant to this year. It's wild that you think it's "cherry picking numbers" to discuss how bad we are when Zion is not on the court this season.

Oh, but don't let that mess up the narrative.
By narrative, you meant the facts.

So your facts are Nance, Herb, Naji, Jose, CJ, and BI being injured or unavailable, while Zion has also been out has nada to do with the Pels standing? ….. Que up Bonnie Tyler “I need a Hero”

You can watch 25 or more other teams in the league that can easily generate open looks from 3, and we simply cannot do it on that level.

Which is kind of shocking. How can we not generate open looks unless we have one of the top two post threats in the league? Something has to change with our offensive game plan.

It is legit confusing.

Looking at a team like the Jazz. With CJ/BI/Zion facilitating and a sniper like Trey, I will never fully understand how the Jazz can take 9 more 3s than us per game AND have a better 3pt% than us.

Nba is a superstar league. You can’t win with good bench players and no superstar(s). Dudes have to get healthy & the current state does not reflect on the healthy unit what so ever

Yes we were missing BI for many of them, but he's back and has been for a few games. Still lost. We've had CJ for most of them. Still lost.

And Zion started off this season slow after not playing basketball for 500. Every time CJ has gotten ill or with his hand injury he took time to get back to playing form

Why would we not expect the same thing with BI?

1. Because he supposedly was medically cleared but waiting until he was absolutely 100% to return

2. Because all of his past previous returns from injury, he came out playing well each time

We had a .439 winning percentage last year. That would put us 24th in the league this year. Seems remotely close to 25th to me.

More importantly, last year wasn't relevant to what that poster was replying to and also, as I stated my post was simply factual, so I'm still not sure how a fact can be "not remotely close to being true"

But you are correct, we weren't good at all last season, we were top 10 ish level bad. Maybe not bottom 5, but certainly closer to bottom 5 than a good team would be.

*My bad, reply to Shell

Stop it, a .439 percentage placed the Pels 8th in the West and 19th overall. Additionally, you haven’t addressed whether the injuries/unavailability of Nance, Naji, CJ, Jose, Herb and BI have anything remotely to do with their current standing coinciding with Zion being unavailable. In context thats like saying GSW was a lottery team without KD, regardless if Curry and Klay were injured and unavailable… I think this horse is definitely a goner

*9th in the West, out of 15 teams.

We crowed about our Depth a lot, but we also knew our shooting was suspect and our rim protection was trash, and teams are just leveling us in both areas.

Like I've said before, we are very deep when it comes having a bunch of players who if they were waived by us for whatever reason, multiple teams would try and pick them up in a heartbeat.

Some teams meanwhile are giving rotational minutes to guys who are glorified G-Leaguers.

The problem with our depth is that we have too many guys that do the same thing and don't really compliment each other if they are spending significant time together on the floor.

It placed us 9th in the west and 6 games behind 8th.

For context of how far we were behind 8th in the west, we're currently 10th in the west and 7 games out of 2nd.

A good team, even missing their best player, with two other All-Star Caliber players

Weird thing to say about two players that have a combined 1 all star selection in 18 seasons combined. I think we all just overrated our guys tbh.

board pattern of a hero to save us in a team game. Its been a confluence of team injuries, tougher schedule, and questionable adjustments that have dictated this downturn.

What messed up the season so far is BI and Zion injuries, our role players not playing up to expectations. Like we only had 2 players play above expectation Naji and Dyson. And Willie being a inexperienced coach, we really need that former head coach lead assistant on this staff.

Trey has definitely lived up to expectations. He's improved almost across the board from last year. More than doubled his points on elite efficiency

Trey has performed well offensively, but not so much defensively. He, as well as others, haven’t been helped by being played out of position (defensively).

We weren't as good as we thought we were for sure. But we aren't far from that.
What we are seeing now is a combination of injuries, fatigue on healthy players and rust on returning players. Nobody is playing their best games of the season right now.
It just so happens we have played 12 of 17 games since New Year's against the top 6 in either conference. We've also gone up against team like Orlando and Washington who've decided to play their best basketball at this point in the season.
Zion will be back post-All Star and our schedule is the easiest in the league. We'll be fine

I'll say this though, if we play like we did last night and against Milwaukee, we won't be losing many games. Those were losses but we'd have beaten pretty much any other team based on our performance. We play like that against the Dallas Lukas we will win

Why is that for sure?

We were 23-12 and fighting for a 1 seed w/2 teams when BI/Zion were healthy. Why are we so certain we couldn't maintain that level of play if they stayed healthy?

We only started losing when those 2 went out.
