Pels schedule tame, BI/Zion healthy, other West contenders have injuries --> Pels on top of the West
Pels schedule toughens, BI/Zion injured, other West contenders have less injuries --> Pels down to 10th
You can choose to believe it's all about Zion being out, I choose to believe it's only partly because of that.

Ingram only played in 15 of our 1st 35 games, only finished 13.
CJ played, but played like absolute shite due to a finger injury and then had Covid and didn't return to his normal CJ form until around game #25.
So Ingram was basically out for 22 of the 1st 35 games. CJ wasn't himself at all for about 25 of the 1st 35 games.
Zion did miss 8, but he was the only one of the 3 that was in and playing and playing well for the majority of the 1st 35 games.
But that alone shows that the reason we were the 1 seed was absolutely not because we were healthy and the other good West teams were not.

Or……maybe we built a team around a player that will spend copious amounts of time on IR and we have no identity outside of said player
I suggest trading said player and let some other team languish whilst he rides the bench( injured)

When Zion is off the court, we play to the equivalent of the 25th best team in the NBA.
This is not remotely close to being true
Check the record post Hammy and get back to us. I would be shocked if we were as good as 25th in that stretch.

OK, let me state things clearer. is the downturn, due in any part, to an injured/unavailable Dyson, Herb, Naji, BI, CJ, Jose, and Nance during the period? Or all just Zion? i’ll even give a mulligan on the schedule strength difference and Coach Green’s questionable rotations.

Our problem on offense is we only have one player who can get to the rim and collapse the defense. We also only have 2 real perimeter shooters.

Zion is THAT good that he made that much of a difference.
