You can't go into the season with this much smoke around a Jrue trade. It wouldn't be good for the locker room, and would just be a distraction, IMO.

I disagree with that. He's not a malcontent. Things will be ok if they have to do so. And i honestly think a trade deadline bidding war my yield more.

Teams have much more cap flexibility now and that allows more teams to bid or be involved. At the deadline, that flexibility shrinks significantly and those teams that have not done well in the early part of the season may have given up hope on the "all-in" approach. Now is probably the time to get most value.

It sounds like you've got a legit bidding war going. If Jrue is the best option for a team then that team better give its legit best offer on Wednesday if they want him. You can't ask for a better set up.

I'm told Mavs are not in on the Jrue Holiday trade sweepstakes. One of the biggest reasons: Pels are determined to trade him to an Eastern Conference team. They don't want to compete against him.

uh huh, ok.

The Mavs don't have the assets to get him, plain and simple. If Denver, Minny, GSW offered a sweet deal, we would'nt hesitate to trade him BRAD.

Or possibly the Mavs don't have the assets to make a trade for him

I find it very unlikely that the Pels are that concerned with playing against Jrue...

Jrue isn't Kevin Durant. I'm sure the PREFERENCE is to trade him to a EC team, as that would be my preference. If deals are equal, he will go east.

If a West team offers more, he will be sent West.

He's a good player...but not THAT good a player. shite, we sent a significantly better player West (of course, we had no real choice).

The Lakers have officially said they aren't in the sweepstakes either.

For the same reason. Not because they have nothing to offer or Gayle and Griff would rather burn the organization to the ground than send Jrue to LA.

I think roster structure more so than cap flexibility but just in 2019 at the deadline for instance, Porzingis and Tobias harris both commanded two 1st round picks each, plus other things.

Im open to both. But mid season isn't some death sentence. More than likely it will be the same teams involved, and the ones that feel to be in striking distance, will be just as desperate if not more to make a move

Do the Lakers have anything to offer though? Kuzma and what else? And I don’t think Kuzma is good either.

I don't think they have enough salary filler to even make a trade for him, because they already agreed to trade Green away. The Lakers were a non-starter in the Jrue sweepstakes.

Here's a rumored trade some message board insider is saying is pretty much a done deal.

I would puke

quote:
Hawks get #13, #17, and a 2nd (IDK where the 2nd is from yet)
Minny gets #5 and #6
NOP gets #1 to draft Melo and takes on some amount of salary. Maybe Culver who MIN is trying to trade, lol.
CLE gets #10, Rubio, and Oubre
PHX gets Jrue and either a combo of Exum/Nance Jr. or Kevin Love
MIN wants two of Deni, Obi, or Haliburton.

So another "insider" proves to be a fraud. CP3 on the way to PHX.

What part did you not like for Pels? Culver and #1 for Jrue and #13 works for me if we have our eye on a prospect we think is a future core piece. Now, I would have hoped it was not LeMelo :)

Anyone who post that much never turns out to be credible. Usually you’ll get small bits of information in a hit and run type of post with no explanation or reasoning.

Agree. And he is constantly posting many other rumors about other teams. He would have to have a team of 20-25 "insiders" to get that much realistic information.

I don't want #1 in this draft unless it's to flip it to someone for other assets. There's no player worth taking at that spot.

They did trade Rubio and Oubre for a guard. It’s certainly not crazy that there were similar discussions for Jrue. But no, I didn’t really believe the mega deal before and it’s definitely dead now.

Got to thinking. This Hawks "insider" is drawing a lot of attention to himself throwing a lot of stuff against the wall. Could this be MM's connection/friend that is connected to Hawks?
