Funny you mention him, because considering contracts, I’d say he has more trade value than the other two. But keep on pushing man

My biggest issue is that Barton is already 29.

What's the proposed hypothetical trade?

Not quite on the stupidity level of a Barton and Harris as centerpiece for a Jrue trade but ok.....

There wasn’t one. Just talking. They’d need to finger a young asset to bowtie it

i mean if Herro is the centerpiece of the trade, it’s still a stupid trade. That kid is overhyped to hell. A good player but not as good as people make him out to be

I’m not saying he will be a superstar. But he’s young, on a rookie contract for years, can score and will shoot the 3 at an elite level. Plays a position of need and was a big part of helping a team get to the finals. At worse, he will end up a jj reddick clone. I’d much rather roll the dice on that instead of two older vets not on our timeline with huge contracts and/or another rookie in a crap draft.

It really depends on the team. Barton is certainly going to opt out in for the 2021/2022 season which pretty much makes him an expiring contract while NAW has 4 cheap years for a team who want a player with upside on the cheap.

Ehhh, I've been a big proponent against it, however digging deeper I'm starting to think its more Horford not fitting with that team last year than anything.

The way I would view that trade is 1) Its going to be hard to top getting Smart and 3-4 1st rounders, and 2) I can maybe rehab Horford and his image for a year and then flip him for more assets next year like OKC is doing with CP3. Worst case, you have to use a 1st rounder to dump his 11 million thats guaranteed in year 4.

Thats another trade I wouldn't LOVE, but I could definitely live with.

I have already argued for Horford since the end of the season. He's a leader and would be a perfect fit with Zion. If Philly is going to pay someone to take him, then I think that we make a lot more sense than most anywhere else.
