Only problem is the Cavs are 4th in the east right now. I cant see them being sellers, giving up Rubio especially with Sexton out for the year.

Can't wait for the NAW/Hart/Herb/Zion/Simmons lineup. Herb might be the best shooter there.

Hart as well. and i'm sure what i said as far as picks go would need to be amended to match values. I was trying to keep Philly under the tax.
unless they can swing for Lillard, Philly isn't getting an allstar back for Simmons like they wanted. Adding EG and Hart and 3 firsts for Simmons seems like pretty decent value. Hart is better than Thybulle, and Egghead has been on fire to start the season from 3. I would think that Philly is more interested in veteran contributors as opposed to young guys. Only reason i included Thybulle was to get them under the tax. They could send their late 1st round pick Springer out instead of Thybulle.

what do you think Wall's value is? I"m not giving a 1st to take on that contract.

I can't think of a single reason why CLE would do this.

Trade for Simmons without including Val, Ingram or Zion?

I mean, that would be pretty awesome. Would the Sixers just take back picks and non-stars? Building the deal around Graham, Hart and Sato?

Holy hell anyone else nervous that Griff will sacrifice the future to try and save his job?

That's where our picks should be going, to Boston or Detroit, not philly for Simmons, even though i've said before that i could definitely see a team built around BI/Zion/Simmons be successful, but that means Simmons plays the 5 for the most part, and he's not the PG in the half court, and you HAVE to get two other legit 3 point threats to play with them.

It can be done for Sato/Hart/Hayes. Salaries work with just those 3.

Philly seems absolutely committed to not moving Simmons if they're not getting a top 30 dude back.

I don't see it happening, and I hope it does not happen.

Outside of Grant, those teams are going to want an all-star caliber player in return. The only guy that fits that description on the roster is Ingram.

Do you realize how ridiculous this sounds? People are just screaming out of both sides of their mouth now.

I see complaints every day about his draft record the last 3 years and how they’re too impatient for these guys to develop.
And now you don’t want him to use all the picks we still have to make the roster better.

Its to the point where it doesn’t matter what he does, there’s going to be bitching regardless because they hate the guy so much. I’m ready for him to get fired at this point for the sole purpose of seeing where the excuses go next. I don’t see Trajan and Swin catching any smoke. Unless they’re there just for show, they’re all in this process too.

Are we pretending GMs and executives haven't done this for decades?

3 years is plenty of time to know what you have in players.

This is true, but as you've done above, you're also making it sound like some of the criticisms are absurd when they're completely valid.

That’s because just about everything he does isn’t good. We’ve given him 3 years and he’s failed at almost everything.

I'm not. I don't think that Griff is trying to save his job at all. I think that he still thinks that he is in the process of building a championship-contending team.

How well he is doing that is a very different question. But I don't know why anyone thinks that Griff is desperate to keep his job. What has he done that reeks of desperation?

GMs trying to save their jobs by making win now moves where the downside or true cost may be multiple years out is something we should be afraid of. The league is full of examples of teams that ended up worse off by a GM with one foot out the door.

This is the Internet, but I think there'd be a big difference in trading a package for Fox/Buddy vs. trading Sato and a 1st for another Graham or Hart level player on an expiring. That's the move that we need to desperately avoid.

I am for trading every single Lakers pick and every single Bucks picks...the closer they get to conveying, the worse they will be. Let someone else bet on the Lakers and the Bucks sucking in 3-6 years.

Even though we have the worst record in the West, we're still only 3.5 games out of the play-in, and we've done much better after starting 1-12.

If we can make a trade to improve somewhat, then it's not at all unreasonable to think that we could be right around the line for the play-in when and if Zion returns with about 25 games left in the season.

That would give the team some time to figure out how to play together with Zion in time to possibly win in the play-in and make the actual playoffs.

I'm not at all saying that it's likely. It's just not crazy to think that.

Ben Simmons is a head case and poison in the locker room. Do NOT want.
