And that’s a problem.

I’m more of interest in upgrading him this offseason instead of JV

Are there any useful bigs still out there in FA? Nance looks done, though we've all said that before and he's come back and dominated.

I'll say it again .. Larry's performance against the Clippers in the play-in a couple years ago set us back so much

Willie just keeps plugging him in there in the 4th expecting a repeat of that game, but the guy is clearly losing some kind of injury/fatigue/degradation battle

Hes just gotten basketball “old.” Problem isnt Nance its Willie not having the balls to bench or cut his minutes. Its a Willie Green problem.

Nance is a serviceable back up center. Nick Claxton is easily the best FA center but I don’t see how we sign him. We’re over the cap and he’ll get more than the mid level exception. Only chance is work out a sign and trade but those are rare and complicated.

2024 Top Center Free Agents

Interesting targets could be Hartenstein, Dario Saric and Mo Wagner. Olynk signed a 2 year extension with Toronto the other day.

We need to draft one. We likely wont have salary to sign a solid backup.

It's not a Willie problem. It's a David Griffin problem. Nance is the best option Willie has at the moment. Jonas is too matchup specific and the starting lineup just doesn't work together.

A Zion at the 5 lineup is too small and gets dominated on defense and the boards.

Nance is the only guy that gives you a shot at rim protection amd rebounding.

Let me be clear. Larry looks like he's cooked at this point. The problem he's the best we've got at the moment, and that's a big problem come playoff time.

JV has been better this whole season in every situation over Nance. This is a Willie obsessed with Nance thing. Yes Griff should have upgraded but this whole JV can’t play in certsin situations is just BS especially this season. There is absolutely no reason to close with Nance- when he gives you no advantage over JV. Absolutely none especially this season.

It was 5 on 4 in the last five minutes because 76ers didn’t bother guarding him on the perimeter. Zero chance of him taking a shot.

Don’t we still have Karlo

And what about the Robert’s dude from Vandy? (might be recovering from injury)

Karlo has looked pretty good with the Squadron--certainly good enough to get a look for 10-15 minutes a night as a back up center. He played professionally this year in Europe and looked good there as well. I suspect the coaching staff thinks it's too late to break in Karlo, or anyone else, at center before the playoffs, but I agree Larry is looking washed again. I'd seriously try JRE or or Cody in those minutes if his play doesn't pick up again soon...

He needs to retire after last night's game. Dude is COMPLETELY useless right now.

Heck, he did not look for a shot when he got it in the paint. He fumbles the ball. He also was getting absolutely abused on the boards. He seems flat footed.

Pels need 15 good minutes of stout play from the Pivot position. The rotation will get shortened and Nance's minutes, if he continues to struggle, will be split between Val, Zion and TM3.

They should have been cut weeks ago. I think Willie will ride or die with Nance which will hurt us.

Pels need all of what Nance is supposed to do. Nance burned Pels last year down the stretch, particularly the Minnesota loss that pushed them to 9th. You don't want a repeat. Minutes will get soaked up into the rotation, but again no one really does what Nance is supposed to do.
