Why would JV want to come back the way Willie played him? I feel bad for JV. He took a deal making 50% less than he was making before with a bad team just to get out of here.

He could have made more signing with the Lake Show but took the Wizards deal.

LeBron named him specifically as one of about 3-4 guys he would take a pay cut to bring in and all those guys said “Nope, not gonna do it.”

Think about how toxic the Lakers are if you would rather play for the Wizards, who will likely be the worst team in the league this season.

I think he's a PF like Sabonis could be a PF or Sengun. Karlo is every bit of 6'10" and in an interview a few days ago he said he's pushing 260 pounds. That's center size. Don't know about his wingspan.

Again, some of this is boiling down to what you think our center should be. If you want an old school Mastadon (like Jonas) then none of these guys will do. But if you are ok with some 6'8"-6'10" guys who are mobile and can pass and shoot, then you like these guys.

I don't think there are too many big pivots who teams will run their offense through. Jokic is one of one. Other big pivots like Zubac or Gobert aren't huge offensive threats. The real issue may be on the boards...

This is my biggest issue. I hope they can work with Karlo on improving his rebounding ability.

JVs effort on the boards, especially offensive boards, created so many extra possessions that are needed to consistently win.

JV is a decent offensive rebounder but Zion is and has always been our best offensive rebounder... When he's in shape.

JV hit the offensive boards 82 games a year, Zion does it for 15 games a year.

He actually didn’t though. Stats say yes but he was Angel Reeseing. 3 tap misses twice a game gave him like 5-6 offensive rebounds that led to no points. If JV could jump over a phone book he would have another 6-8 points a game on putbacks

If you don’t have size, both of these guys will destroy you. We need to hope Karlo is the real deal

To be fair, that is true of a lot of offensive rebounders.

Also, one bright spot, JRE was right behind Zeller, JV, and Nance in OR% (7.8% and total 12.7) and a bit ahead of Zion.

The real issue is that JV is an elite rebounder.

If he is truly 260 lbs at 6'10" , he is absolutely big enough to be a C in today's nba. Is he talented enough to be a starter? Time will tell. The good news is this team doesn't need much from the position.

The article says he's 6'11". I found his prospect profile and it had his wingspan at 7-0 feet.

Guy is a very good athlete, and those are all good measurables for sure.

We just have to see if he can actually play at an NBA level.

6'11 255 seems like a stout center. Jonas is listed at 6'11 265. I don't think Karlo looks big like that. Maybe I'm greatly underestimating the size of the opponents, but Karlo just doesn't look big like that in these games.

No I agree. I have my doubts he's 6'11" but if he bulks up enough, that shouldn't matter too much.

It's a bit deceiving because Jonas carries a lot of his weight in his feet

I would bet that Trey Murphy is actually taller than Karlo.
