Jrue was our third best player and is 30 years old. Whatever team he ended up on was likely going to be the 3rd or 4th option. 26 million is a lot for that. These mofo’s act like we were gunna get some type of star in return.

and he can be a FA after the season.

We can compete but we know we won’t win it all. Lebron coming back and warriors coming back. We are building for a very solid future in two-three years. We will have multiple
Firsts during zion and bi prime.

We’ll see. If they lose to a Nets team with Harden, KD and Kyrie on it you think he’s gonna stick around with his big three of Middleton and Jrue?

This is a great deal for us and all of the people thinking we got shafted are stupid. Jrue is not AD, you can’t compare the two trades directly. Jrue was going to be a FA and leave next year and we got a huge haul as compensation to lose him one year earlier, when we know we aren’t going to seriously compete this year with or without Jrue

Pelicans trades for all these 1st round picks with both the Lakers and Bucks are basically tons of very late 1st round picks and nothing but complete gambles to even last in the league more than a handful of years.

Or a team like that Lakers that is centered around an injury prone pussy (AD) and a 60 year old (Lebron) have two injuries and completely fall apart for a year and we get a top 5 pick. It is literally what happened to GSW this year. What's more likely to happen the Lakers and Bucks keep dominating for 6 more years or one of those years 1 of them fall apart?

I went to RealGM and the first few pages are the similar to here if not worse.

Griffin is an idiot! What is he doing! What a steal by bucks.

4 pages later the trade compensation is revealed.

Bucks are desperate! What a steal by NOLA!

This feels different than the Lakers giving up all their draft picks, as Los Angeles is always a threat to bag a top free agent in the off season

If something happens with Giannis in Milwaukee, there is no path to a rebuild without the draft

FYI Pels won't be able to aggregate salary in any Bledsoe or Hill flip until much later. So any trade happening soon will be just the player + any picks. Example - can't combine Bledsoe + Miller for a bigger salary number.

Interesting info, I wonder when the "much later" is given the shortened offseason. Its not like it can be THAT much later.

That's alright though, if we are moving Bledsoe we likely want an uneven trade without us taking back much salary.

He's working under the assumption that the trade is complete as is. Which I'm not sure is the case.

We still have about $7~8M in cap space to send out with Hills $9.5M. So we can and should make an uneven trade so we can be a cap team. Miller’s contract isn’t going to be guaranteed.

Thats to be expected. A young player with all star potential and a higher 1st rounder would be the value needed to get a player 2 tiers above Jrue. You won't get the same return on a top 30 player that you will on a top 5 player.

The Bucks are acquiring the No. 42 pick and No. 60 pick in Wednesday’s draft from the Pelicans, sources tell
@TheAthleticNBA
.
We threw them some 2nds for them to be able to fill out their roster on the cheap.

Am I the only person that doesn’t mind keeping Bledsoe? He’s a decent player.

Lopez is only saying 60 but I bet Shams is right. I don't give a shite about 2nd round picks to be honest

Well this changes everything.

Give me a few minutes to re-evaluate the trade.

I think everyone would be fine with keeping Bledsoe for at least a year, but everyone just thinks we won't.

We may though. We do need to put together a roster, and we need some vets on it.
