Power of market perception ... in reality New Orleans has been a more successful franchise than NY since they've been in the league.
Market far outweighs the actual organization in that case.
Seriously, other than it being a shot at the team we all cheer for, what was wrong with what Hart said?
We can either pout about the fact that he was too honest or hopefully we can redirect our misplaced anger at Hart and steer it towards Gayle, Griff and the city.
What Hart said is largely how the NBA views the city and organization... we need to fix that.

like JJ Redick, loved the city until they had to deal with Griffin and Gayle Benson

Well, according to Murray, it isn't true, so I guess one could start there.

Some of you all always find the worst way to interpret what someone is saying.
What he said is basically right. No one is going to be excited about being traded to New Orleans, mostly because they don't really know the place. He even acknowledges he enjoyed his time there. It's simply how people see the city from the outside and the franchise to be honest.
If I had an option of places to live, New Orleans would be nowhere near the top of my list. It's simply not that great of a city to live in compared to other places, but a great place to visit. It doesn't mean its not a good place to live, but as far as NBA cities go, others are way better.

For sure, don't disagree entirely, but its really just about winning. The Knicks have been milking the two rings in the early 70s for over fifty years now, and now JHart is on the tite .....

It's a lot about media density which is why NY and LA get so much shine deservedly or not. Media glams-up Lakers, Knicks, Yankees, Dodgers, and RAMs every year .... Here comes Willis Reed out of the locker room, although a great moment, that gets trotted out every year by the media because they won a title before I bet most of this board were born. However, note that KC/Chiefs, Denver/Nuggets still get positive light for their city and players because they win, although they're not in major markets.
That's why I push back on the folks who constantly want a re-tool when the team is moving in the right direction by ultimate measure (wins). 49 wins has to be in top 5 seasons, right? Saints went from the 'perception' of bag to brag with one season, but that was a build up from their previous two or three seasons.
Agree, that a deep playoff run is an expectation and probable requirement for the team to continue as is. If that happens, the City will then see a shift in the NOLA perception as a franchise and destination, although, from all accounts and reality, the majority of players on the team have said repeatedly that they want to be here and love the city, heck even J. Hart cried when he was traded.

I don't find Lil Wayne a big advocate of sports in New Orleans. He is not a New Orleans sports fan.
Lil Wayne shows up at Saints games wearing the opponent's jersey. frick that guy.

He also dumped on indianapolis at the all star break only for the knicks to lose to the pacers in the playoffs. Then went after Haliburton who ghosted him and won a gold medal. Stick to podcasts bro.

Wayne hates New Orleans. Only tries to suck up when he's touring down here, otherwise he has talked shite more times than I can count.

Damn he was loved in New Orleans by the fans too. I think it shows you what the players think of management.

I love living in NOLA but it suits me. I understand how people don’t like it though. Two things can true.

NOLA is an amazing city if it was ran by competent government. Our local officials are arse especially the DA.

What was his first shot? Guess I never heard it. Kind of disappointing, he was one of the ex Pels I rooted for the most. But, F him now.

slutiger5 I completely agree with you. Front office personnel has a laid back approach when it comes to winning. Pels are like Charlotte, not interested in a championship just want to be relevant.
