If we do get Philly's 1st ...what range are we thinking 3-7th pick this year? Who would be the cherry at that level?

There is no way philly is giving up a first for an expiring contract.

Yeah, Chicago would be really excited. Okafor + 2 top 8 picks for Butler.

Those are the pelicans offers, not sizes. goes to show they're very serious and intent on keeping jrue for the long run when I heard that.

I wouldn't agree with that at all. The Pels (if they kept him) are the only other team that could offer him a full max without making significant roster moves. If Philly is prepared to drop 4/$120ish in a hostile bid, and 5/$150ish if they trade for him, I wouldn't be too nervous if I were them because the best other teams are going to do is 4/$90ish.

So why would Philly give up their first round pick, just so he's on their team for 2 months, and then place a bid for him that would be no different if he wasn't on the team?
They don't need to trade for him now to offer him something retarded this offseason.
I am by no way advocating not to do this by the way. I'd be ecstatic with getting Chicago's first round pick for Jrue, but to get a top 6 pick, i'd take my shirt off, twist it around my hand, spin it like a helicopter in a Petey Pablo video.

Because they think we'll match and if we do they won't get him. Trading for him and eliminating the only other high priced bidder is the only way to make their cap space matter. They have plenty of picks and already and 2 potential franchise players on the roster. Trading Okafor and the #5-#10 pick for Holiday is worth it to them because they have a win now mandate from the league. Holiday will help them a lot more than another 19 year old with a lot of potential.

I guess. Seems like they could use their picks to get someone better, and on a contract. I would be very happy with getting a top 10 pick for Jrue. More than i would have ever imagined.

quote:Crowder? I sure the hell hope we are not thinking of trading the pick this year for someone like Crowder if we get a high pick.
Also said the only other big man they're targeting is vucevic but Orlando wants the 17 pick which is not available unless butler, porter, or Crowder are involved.
As far as Jrue, even if Philly were to agree to the 2017 pick for him, I am sure they would want solid protection as well. So, we surely would not be getting another top 5 pick.

It's not Crowder alone, but part of a package deal.
Philly has what the 6th worst record right now? It'd most likely be a 6-10 pick at the end of the day

I'm assuming this is part of what MM was referring to concerning trading the 17 pick for a wing. I wouldn't mind a package centered around Crowder and Bradley.

so is there anything to the rumor that we are trading AA, Moore and the 18 pick for Oakafor? I thought they would have to send someone else back due to the current size of their roster.

Can you reiterate what that trade concerning crowder and Bradley-- would look like....missed it...thanks

If we can get Crowder and Bradley, you do it immediately.

Why would Ainge trade Crowder/Bradley when they are second in the east and doesn't need more picks?
They are only moving Crowder/Bradley for a two way star. Boston needs them to cover up for IT's terrible defense. So they are only leaving for a monster deal.

I think if we can accept that we aren't making the playoffs, with the Love injury there is a great opportunity to trade Tjones to CLE or other east competitors for more than we should get otherwise.
A very productive player on a minimum contract is a great asset to move to a competitor trying to win this year.

Cleveland has no assets and the Pels think Jones can be a piece moving forward. I don't think anything like that is going to happen

CLE is desperate to appease Lebron while saving money and may trade future picks with minimal protections to make him happy. Rights to Cedi Osman, Felder and a top 3 protected 2020 or 2021 pick for TJones/Frazier would be great for the franchise. Dell wouldn't trade for a picks so far out, but CLE is going to turn to shite when Lebron finally falls off the cliff.
I get Jones is friends with AD and has played better this year making him a feather in Dells cap, but I don't love the Pels getting in a bidding war for him with emotional attachment.

I hope we can keep Jones. He has done a lot better than I thought he would and would be great as role player on this team moving forward.
But at the right price. I just wish we could dump Asik and Ajence and sign DMO and Jones.

Not sure Cleveland can trade any of those picks because of the Stepien Rule. I know they have a bunch of future picks traded.
