Not encouraging and not surprising, honestly. One preseason game, though...

Stud. Due to his size itll be very hard for him to take Jrue's starting job but damn if he isn't efficient

To earn his money, all Hill needs to be is a threat on offense IMO. As long as his man stays with him, and doesn't sag 10 feet off to help on others, I wouldn't care if he never scored or took a shot. He will earn his money defensively and on the boards hopefully

Anything you get beyond that will be a bonus. When teams leave him, he just needs to hit at a high enough rate to make them stay on him the next possession. I never want him to have to create his own offense anyway.

I don't usually evaluate a team until 30 games into the season. So you can imagine how I feel about drawing even the faintest of conclusions from the first, untelevised preason game. All that matters is that nobody New got hurt. And that's all I want from the rest of the preseason

I was at the game. You really can't tell anything based off of the first preseason game, but the team looked more disciplined in rotations and ball movement than anything we saw last year. It wasn't so much the result as the fundamentals that were encouraging. Still a few too many turnovers, but less blatantly stupid plays.

Hield looked good, Moore looked very good, and even though AD was quiet, he still got his when he was in. Omer still looked pretty lost, Ajinca got the start and looked meh. Waaaay fewer wide open 3s on defense, which is encouraging.

These are stupidly basic first impressions, I know But I'm in a rush and just kinda wanted to spitball a little bit. It was fun to have a game in my backyard for once.

Yeah I noticed that. Two well timed lobs amongst them.

Looked much better overall then anything from summer league.

This is my problem though. We just gave an "all he needs to be/do" guy, 50+ million. Thats the same type of qualifier we were forced into with Asik's deal. "All he needs to do is," or "with the cap spike, that contract..."

My fear about Hill from the beginning was that we might be paying him all that money to be a marginally better Cunningham. Again, only 1 preseason game, but...
