I agree

Nah probably not. Toronto's a large market but generally not favored by American born players cause it's north of the border.

There is no way that Toronto made this trade without knowing that BI would sign an extension

This was just a low cost talent acquisition from their perspective. Classic buying low. They can try and trade sone of the other pieces after they see how they fit.

Well I was dead wrong about him getting $20 million. I’ll take the loss on that. It only takes one stupid team I guess. Terrible contract for raptors

A 27 y/o 20+ppg wing was never signing a contract that averages 13% of the cap in the year signed. That would be unprecedented.

Myles Turner

Is still the center that zion needs

But we have too many big deals. In a world Murray didn't get hurt, you trade CJ for some 2nds and get Turner. End up with edgecomb at the worst

Murray/Alvarado/Brown
Jones/Edgecomb/Brown
Murphy/Green
Williamson/JRE
Turner/Missi/Olynyk

Much more spacing and defense

Yeah, I just was referring to the Pacers hopefully losing him and being a little worse next year.

This is where we mess up. You don't draft a guy top 5 and play him off the bench. He should start. He should grow by playing. Minutes are erratic for bench players. Young stars have to be forced minutes and play through mistakes..

When's the last time a player in their prime signed an NBA contract for less money per year than their last contract year? Anyone who thinks he was making less than 36/37M has serious critical thinking issues.

Not only did they give him 40M a year but did it while he is currently out and only played 16 games this year.

So he's worth 40M being unavailable and only playing 19% of the season.

Kinda kills the "BI is worth 30M" crowd.

Watch him come back and put up 27/6/6 stats as the #1 guy and Toronto flips him next year in trade for a couple 1st and maybe a young bench player with upside.

It was really really difficult for most to understand this very simple fact.

Agree. But I discovered reading this board that there was an inordinate amount of posters who just hated Ingram. So there wasn’t a whole lot of actual thought involved in a lot of that.

For real, at worst I was thinking $30-35 mill if there was legitimately that little interest.

Could still be a guy who ends up playing 30mpg as the 6th man. At some point you'll say yeah, Murray to the bench or Jones to the bench in the perfect world.

He would have had to have gotten a foot amputated to get $20 million.
