Looking at some of those clips.. I wonder if he’s mentally checked out

Or is it as simple as he’s a fricking disaster on the defensive end, switches off and doesn’t box out…

A little of both. But I also say being checked out leads to the defensive and rebounding issues. Not ideal but hes also talent wise the teams best player. Team needs to figure it out.

I’m not in favor of trading both but since Zion has been so shite, I have no idea who I’d rather trade. I’ve advocated for a BI trade because I think Zion’s ceiling is so much higher but I have no idea if he’ll actually get there because of health/giving a shite.

I do still think trading BI for picks and depth is probably the best course and gets you closer to CJ/Trey/Herb/Zion/JV which I think would be our best lineup with CJ and Zion running the offense. The FO is trying to push a two-man show but it seems like neither BI or Z want that direction. Someone’s feelings are gonna have to get hurt

5 years into this. At some point you have to realize it’s just not going to happen (at least with us)

Maybe he could average 20? 7 rebounds a game for a 6'6" forward who exerts a lot of energy on the offensive end is not bad. You can always find an example of any good player not going full go after a rebound. If he were averaging 3-4, I would worry.

Again, the defensive side is the problem.

We are one of the worst team in the league giving up ORebs. Zion is our PF, he needs to be grabbing defensive rebounds.

CJ McCollum, Kyle Lowry, and Chris Paul are grabbing boards at a better rate than Zion defensively. It's bad, it's really bad.

Zion has been so shite

If Zion has been shite, Ingram has been explosive diarrhea.

Zion clearly tries harder when he’s “the man”, and we are a FAR superior team when he is.

You’re not paying attention then, I could care less about the 6.5 rebounds per game seeing how 2-3 of those are off his own misses every night. He should be averaging 6-7 DEFENSIVE rebounds per game. Whenever I see him just not trying multiple times a night then yes, he needs to do more

The effort seen from both leads me to believe they are having a Cold Civil War.

I have more of an issue with him not blocking out than the actual number of rebounds he grabs. If you're not going to put effort in getting the defensive boards night in and night out, at least put your big arse on the opposing player and prevent them from getting in rebounding position. Too much ball watching.

The Nuggets just lost to the Rockets last night without Murray. This is the most over reactionary I’ve ever seen this board. We are without Herb, Trey, CJ, and Jose. Yeah maybe we’re cursed and our team will always be injured but throwing stones at the two guys who are finally healthy.. doesn’t really make any sense. It’s an 82 game season, all 4 of those injured players who are probably 4 of our best 6 or 7 players should be back before Christmas. Didn’t we start like 1-12 a couple of years ago? Losing sucks but y’all need to chill, the sky screaming isn’t going to make it better

The Nuggets are 8-2. They lost on the road. Still picture perfect at home. Not sure why you're comparing us to the Nuggets. They can afford to lose a game from time to time. We're on a fricking 5 game losing streak where we're getting blown out in 5 of the 6 losses.

Again…i dont care about any of that. If they lose I understand, but for them to play with no urgency, your “stars” giving no shite on defense, and have 0 offensive identity, that’s the problem. It’s not that they’re losing

I discussed this exactly last night.

It sounds like folks are resigned to the idea that fighting for the play in is as good as it'll get for us. That's the only way the above logic works.

If you're happy to get to 36 wins and the 10th seed and hope you can win 2 play in games to secure an 8 seed, you can point to starting 1-12.

If you're happy to get to 43 wins and get into the play and again, hope to get a 7 or 8 seed, same applies.

But if you realize we have top 4 in the West talent on this team, you realize how important these slides are that need to be avoided or stopped sooner rather than later. We don't know when or even if this team will ever be healthy. But we can't keep sliding for 1-2 more months. Even if the entire roster is healthy, at that point, you're just trying to claw your way back to a play in berth, and that's an abject failure for this team going forward.

This, also discussed this in multiple posts last night.

Losing is 1 thing. But this is process vs results. The process and effort are broken right now.

We just lost to the rockets in Houston by 1 possession

We are not good to overcome those 4 injuries. Accept it, stop watching until they come back. It’ll be alright

We got blown out by the Nuggets without Murray. What's your point? We played Denver. There's no need to use the Rockets/Denver game as some kind of barometer.

When Zion and BI don’t each drop 50 points, 7 blocks, and 5 steals

They can't even drop 50 points combined on most nights. They certainly ain't giving you 1 block combined a game nor are they giving you more than 1 steal total combined. But let's pretend they are putting up those fantasy numbers you posted at all.
