Pass on anything Indiana can offer. No need to trade such a valuable asset for a player at a non premium position. I'm totally against trading back as well.

every healthy organization/business has people of different ages with different skills

Pelicans have a LOT of young guys now and will have a lot of young guys in the future. Jrue is the only one balancing this out at the moment. We need a somewhat established guy at this point, not more picks. Turner, even though he's young, is has a very different skill set and he is locked in for 4 seasons.

Now I won't force a trade just to trade, that's just my preference if the right guy comes along. Turner fits that bill.

I think you'll also see guys like Jared Dudley targeted as older vets to come lead the team.

I agree with everything you said. I don't want a bunch of rookies on this team. It's one of the reasons I don't want to trade back to acquire extra picks in this draft. We already have 2 first rounders, I don't see the need for a 3rd. I believe we have 2 seconds as well.

But with that said, I'm totally ok with having 2 rookies, and I'm not trading #4 which could potentially land you a star, because I'm worried about being to young.

I'm also not trading it for a center that won't always be on the court to finish games for me while I pay him $18M a year really putting a dent in my cap while it's been proven you can compete in this league with a 2 or 3 man rotation at center that costs significantly less than $18M a year, but I feel like I'm beating a dead horse there.

Why do you think he won’t be on the court to finish games?

He shot like 74% from the FT line (80% his 2nd year) and he shoots almost 39% from 3.

He's also a borderline elite defender. I don't see any reason why he wouldn't be on the floor often late in games.

We would be totally retarded to NOT trade the #4 and solo for Turner...

This is how you build a team...

problem is that we've talked for months about how this is a 3-team draft. 4-10 is a crap shoot. good talent but a crap shoot.

think how Garland has picked up speed. 1) he picked up speed because he played very good against 5 very below average teams, and we've seen & gotten to know everyone else. others can be enamored with the possibility what might be with Garland, and he might be a solid player, but man that is a massive gamble at with the 4th pick. Gives me shades of Dion Waiters 2) because Griff is doing work in the media hyping this kid up

turner is a very good shooter and an elite defender. you'll start to see him named in all-defensive teams very soon. he'll be there at the end of games I promise

Garland is also rated high because he was the top PG coming out of high school a year ago, so (in the absence of a full body of work last year) people are still projecting him in that spot.

Garland has a few good workouts and he's suddenly Damian Lillard to some people

Think about the defensive potential - Ball, Jrue, Ingram, Zion, Turner. That is one hell of a defensive team. Spacing could be an issue, so we would need to fill in with shooters.

I agree we definitely need shooters. that will be addressed but not with Garland

Sabonis... i'm not too interested in Turner.

SO you are not interested in a rim-protecting big that can shoot the 3? Isn't that exactly the type of big you want to put around Zion?

That's what I keep coming back to as well. The defensive potential of that lineup would be insane. So much length, athleticism and high BBIQ. I'm all for trading the pick for Turner or Gordon. I'm also completely for keeping the pick. Griff has more than earned our trust, so I'm good with whatever he decides.

How does Jahlil Okafor play into our plans next season? He came on strong toward the end of the year and definitely warrants more playing time.

I don't think he's necessarily full-time starter material, but we could do a lot worse than him at the 5.
