Why would the Hawks do this? Seems terrible for them
3 team trade:
76ers - BI
Pels - Bridges, Reed
Nets - 4 firsts from 6ers

2 team:
Magic CJ McCollum (rather than giving klay a 3-4 year deal at a similar price) and a pick
Pels - Jonathon Isaac

Sign Tyus jones in FA

It's unbelievable that CJ continues to play the amount of minutes he's playing. He's about as bad on the defensive end as you can possibly be, and his offense has been awful. But yeah let's keep him in and let him continue to give up points and miss shots. At this point it's on Willie for leaving him in and not at least trying Dyson and Hawk to see if they can give better minutes and give this team a spark.

Why not play them the majority of the second half when the game was out of hand? Great opportunity to get our young guys playoff experience and at least see what they can provide. Wasting the development of these guys while watching CJ and BI continue to be abysmal. Willie needs to go.

Screens

Anyone else notice how OKC fights over basically every screen where as we seem to switch almost everyone of them (except for Herb some times). Not sure if it’s coaching or if we’re just soft as shite, but okc got every match up they wanted the whole game.

Not to mention setting screens got us 5-6 offensive fouls this game. Some of it is on the players, but no well coached team is this poor at such a basic aspect of the game.

The combo of how bad both are on defense and how each are an absolute black hole on offense makes it’s so hard to watch this team. It’s such bad basketball, and Willie does nothing. At this point they’re both a net negative. I know we don’t have many other options but at least try a lineup with neither of them on the court and see if we operate better. Feel so bad for Trey, barely touches the ball and may take 1-2 shots a quarter and can never find a rhythm. So fed up with this shite team

CJ’s Defense

It’s unbearable to watch. Gives up bucket after bucket after bucket. He’s almost unplayable unless he’s on fire offensively. Curious to how many points total he gave up this game. The fact Willie continues to play him as many minutes while not even giving Dyson or hawk a chance is so frustrating, they can’t possibly do worse.

So ready for he and BI to be gone. Ready for Willie to be gone. Ready for Val and nance to be gone.
I know you're only allowed to designate 2. To your point, I guess they'd rather not free up more money for signings come June 1st. There probably wouldn't be any viable options remaining anyway.

The decision had to be between Jameis and Maye because releasing MT now would have worsened our cap situation by 7.5 million so they were never going to do that.

I'm assuming they'd rather have Mayes 8 mil cap hit on the books for this year rather than doing post june 1st cut to save 7 million this year and spread the dead cap out as 2 mil 2024 and 6 mil for 2025. Makes more sense now.
So we designate MT and Jameis and not Maye? Maye would have saved us 7mil post June 1st. Jameis and MT combined save us 2 mil. I don’t get it.
False, releasing him after june 1st saves 11.8 million for 2023, but does leave us with a 10.4 dead cap for 2024

Yeah a 61 pff for regular season and a 59 in the playoffs is incredible. I would say he comes no where close to a pro bowl deserving player but I’d be lying considering Peats ability to be awful and still make the pro bowl
Not really sure what your point is here. He doesn’t have an injury history. Came back and played the best basketball of his career. If anything this goes against your point.
Lmao worst o line, no idea why they didn’t take Sewell with already having Boyd and Higgins. Lions just got a gift and they have even shittier wrs.

Yeah the list goes on and on. There are tons of rbs that can have a ton of success in a certain scheme with a solidly built offensive line that you can pay below average money for. Defense, o line and qb play are the biggest factors in winning Super Bowls.

2019 chiefs - Damien Williams 2/5.1
2018 patriots - James white 3/12, Sony 4/9.6
2017 eagles - Blount 1/1.25, ajayi 4/2.5
2016 patriots - Blount 1/1.1, Dion Lewis 2/2.6
2015 broncos - CJA 3/1.5, Ronnie hillman 4/3
2014 patriots - Blount 2/1.7, Vereen 4/3.4
2013 Seahawks - lynch 4/30
2012 Baltimore - ray rice 1/7.7
2011 giants - Ahmad Bradshaw 4/18
2010 packers - James starks 4/2
2009 saints - Pierre/ bell / bush

Just some quick evidence of why paying running backs a substantial amount has not resulted in winning Super Bowls. Regardless of his ability to catch, kamara is not worth the amount we paid for him. I hope he proves this pattern wrong and we win a super bowl. But the patriots have proven you don’t need one rb that can catch and run when you can pay one of each very little to excel in each respectively. The rest of the teams show you don’t have to over pay a running back to win a super bowl with how the game is played these days.
Agreed, mixon has played behind one of the shittiest o lines in football. Not to mention offensive systems. Kamara has played behind a top 5 o line with an all time great qb and a scheme that is built perfectly for players like him. Even with us monitoring his touches over the past 3 years the guy still can’t stay healthy.
We still have 36 mil of dead cap from brees next year and Winston I’m sure will want a long term contract if we decide to go in that direction. It’s absolutely absurd to pay kamara 16mil a year and not be able to afford re signing a handful of other core players at more valuable positions.
Cool John Brady came within 2 games of it once in 11 years. And won 2 sec titles to dales 4 in 11 years with less talent. I don’t watch LSU basketball to see an sec title get hung. The program can and should be better than that, and with WW we will be. Why even be a fan if you’re just content with the team being mediocre.
