I think Indy has to choose between Turner and Sabonis. They have Sabonis as a bench 5 which is fine with his current salary but he needs to be paid.

Not sure playing them together is ideal. Might as well get the 4th pick for one.

I said this yesterday and people seemed to disagree lol, I think Myles turner may be drastically underrated on this board

We need to keep in mind if they prefer Sabonis to Turner, which if he’s statistically better they very well could, then we will have to give up more for him.

4/Solo/Bertans for 18/Turner is much better to me than 4/Solo/Moore/+ for 18/Sabonis

The latter wouldn’t work because of salaries

It probably would as Indiana is well under the cap. However, it may be more like Hill or Moore and #4 for Sabonis, McDermott at 18.

thats why Turner & Sabonis have been on everyone's mind. the two for some reason cannot & have not shown they can play together even though it should theoretically work on paper. turner is a spacer and sabonis plays in the mid-range

Indiana has made Thaddeus Young a priority this offseason because he pairs better with Turner & Sabonis than those two pair together. And with Sabonis needing a new deal, probably in the same range as Turner (17-20 mil a year) they have to decide what they are going to do

Can we all agree that with the amount of smoke Griffin has managed to generate around this pick, we are almost certainly going to be moving it?

Pass on anything Indiana can offer. No need to trade such a valuable asset for a player at a non premium position. I'm totally against trading back as well.

Well, if Turner is the better defender, that right there alone is reason enough to go for him.

With AD accepting trade kicker, the Pels can take back close to 38 mil in a trade without using cap room. Lonzo, Ingram and Hart only count as 17. They can take back a.lot more salary. Put Solo in the deal and they can take back around 50 and still have cap room to spend

Order of operations matters but that's easy. Pels agree to a deal in early July and sign him on July 6th, before they execute the trade. Super easy.

What do you consider valuable for our team right now? The consensus is a player who can hit the 3 and provide spacing. Or someone who is a rim protector.... or someone with some size that can help rebound.... someone who is young and fits our timeline..... someone who doesn’t really break the bank....

What if I told you there’s one player that fits all that.... how valuable would you consider that???

I'm convinced the smoke is to create a frenzy around Garland to up the offers. The fact that Garland had another emergency workout that included the Wolves, Celtics, & Bulls, along with Garland being considered at #3 proves that.

We didn't hear any other smoke around Garland until we got this pick. and I don't think thats a coincidence

Who is he talking about signing before the execution of the trade?

Could... *gasp* Rich Paul be working with Griff to:

A) get more teams interested in his client

&

B) Make that #4 more desirable

Understatement. He's a guy that could be in DPOY consideration one day.
