How would we look against these playoff teams at peak health and skill from this past year

I'm talking about the Pels when they were rolling earlier last year.

I think it would be pretty entertaining games against these teams. We'd see Zion wrecking shop, Ingram getting his, defense from the young guys, and (hopefully) some 3's falling.

Not sure how we did against these teams at that time in the regular season, but I guess playoff basketball is a different animal anyway.

We had a hand full games where we were fully healthy. Hard to assess their ceiling with such a limited sample size.

We’d be right in the thick of things with a healthy Z.

We can compete with anybody in the West.

I stopped myself from making a thread, but the team we played shot for shot with and beat without B.I. and almost beat without Z and B.I....well that team is up 2-0 in the wcf right now.

yeah and the team we matched up horribly against, had extra motivation against due to history and draft picks, and could not beat at home or away us down 0-2 in the WCF

We beat them at home and were an Austin Reaves heave away from winning the h2h against them. Without z

Lack of perimeter shooting would still hurt us.
Spacing would still be an issue and our stars would have to constantly take tough shots

We actually match up well with the Nuggets. You’re just speaking out of your arse without any stats behind it.

You’re crazy if you think they can sweep a healthy pelican squad with CJ, Jose Alvarado, Larry Nance, Zion being fully healthy

Lol we beat them in December without BI. Granted they didnt have MPJ, if I remember correctly. But we had CJ and Zion. They had Jokic and Murray.

We'd be putting up a better fight than the Lakers right now. But I still don't think we're championship level. We were the 1 seed while Z was healthy, though

I agree and it's a big reason why I think we'll see Trey A LOT more with the starters next season.

Trey should be a starter and Herb does not move to the bench.

CJ isn't coming off the bench nor should he.

Only other remote option is Zion at the 5 which also isn't a realistic option so it back to CJ, just not happening.

CJ can and does create his own looks and orchestrates the offense reasonably well. Ideal for a sixth man, Pop had Ginobli do this for years, why the absolutes with CJ?

if we keep the core roster intact it’s gonna be interesting what the starting lineup is gonna be. Trey coming off the bench is gonna have heads roll

I'm not a Shamit Dua fan at all, but he's right about one thing. This league is built around offense. If we somehow get rid of JVal and get a rebounder/rim protector like Claxton and still keep Herb in as a starter, there's just not enough spacing on the floor for Z and BI.

Herb is too good to be relegated to the bench but I dont know of his fit with Z and BI as the main pieces. Trey with Z, BI and CJ + rim protecting big just makes more sense. I think Herb is going to be traded eventually. Not this year. But eventually. Trey is too good offensively to be on the bench.

One thing no one really talks about is the turnovers. You watch Denver and Miami value possessions and don't make dumbass turnovers. We can't seem to help ourselves.

Herb must be moved to the bench. Trey just fits too well. Draft a rim protector like lively with 14. I’m not worried about the spacing for zion. Dude put up 27 on elite efficiency at 20 years old next to Steven Adams. He’ll figure it out. CJ BI Trey Zion Lively. Lively provides vertical spacing because if his guy sags off too much you can throw up a lob for him
