And I agree, could do a lot worse than a heavily protected first for Duren. He won’t be finishing games so it doesn’t

If the pels can grab duren for a protected first they better do it. He has huge upside.

I would think Duren isn’t even on the table for them to trade. He’s super young, high upside, and was good enough to be selected for the Team USA practice squad

Don’t see why they’d trade him

Yeah if they weren't sold on Duren, I'd imagine they would've taken Clingan in the draft.

Isaiah Stewart is someone we should be looking to grab from them though

He makes too much money to be part of a non BI/CJ level trade. This thread is trying to figure out how you fix the lineup without that kind of trade.

Let's say for the sake of argument, we do not trade BI or CJ before the season.

We do not trade multiple picks for anyone.

How do we finish out this roster, with our salary constraints and players available?

With these parameters, the only way to acquire a quality starting center is to trade Hawk.

I don't want to do that, and I don't think most of us do, but it's the only way that fits your restrictions. It would very much be an all-in-move for this season.

Until they get Ingram to sign on that dotted line at a rate that they're comfortable with, trading Hawkins would be a dumb move.

The next "deadline" is the first week of August so this might drag on a while. Griff has claimed this isn't a deadline that would impact their decisions, but they need to extend BI before August 6th if they want to be able to trade him before the Feb 6th Trade Deadline. That is something that will hopefully cause movement.

Eater is definitely the right word. I can't believe you typed this out with a straight face.

Maybe if you and everyone else downvoting that post could read you would see it says best available FREE AGENT centers, which is the point of this thread asking how to fill it out without a trade. Those are the best available, except Bol Bol who got signed and I didn’t see.

The point of it is, there’s not much out there unless we go with a hybrid 4/5

Its pretty clear that BI will on the opening night roster.

Obviously anything can happen. Donovan Mitchell wasn't traded until September.

But I just don't see it at this point. He will be here. We need a very team friendly extension with him to see if he can be moved in the future.

Its time to focus on how else we can get a Center.

Also I know I’ll probably get shite on here, but I think people are really underestimating Theis’s ability.

IMO he’ll fill the nance role pretty damn well. Switchable on defense, can take 3’s, smart, sets good screens.

Sure he’s undersized, provides no rim protection, and has absolutely no post game, but it’s not like Willie will go to the post anyway.

You already know Willie is going to use JRE in the Nance role.

Lotta folks were ok with Paul Reed. Achiuwa has more girth, slightly less height, reach, wingspan. Held his own vs Embiid in the playoffs
