if you're gonna sell you better sell high and realistically his value could only diminish if he plays a lesser role with cp coming back or gets hurt himself, could have gotten better value in a perfect world but i dont think the teams that could have given that value were ready to deal. i remember reading the hornets rebuffing the pacers about DC last week so throwing posey in there and getting the other teams involved probably got the wheels turning.

can someone explain the the total difference/upgrade in terms of cap space we just got?

We save about $1.5 million immediately, but long term it's not really a savings at all. We turned Posey's 2 years into Ariza's 4 years, only difference is Ariza should be a solid starter vs. a frustratingly ineffective bench player.

Also, I wouldn't count on keeping that Collison salary savings for long, this move puts the Hornets at 11 players and you have to have 12 on your roster. Not to mention we need a backup PG now.

I'm not sure who we'd trade for a combo guard like Bayless, but Portland still has a logjam at just about every position but PF and are looking to move players. Songaila and a future 1st for Bayless and Rudy? The bad thing about this trade is it kind of forces us to make other moves and you usually overpay when you're being forced.

JuJu going off this year! he might avg 5ppg!

It's sad that I think he has a better chance to average 5 turnovers per game than ppg.

Is there any chance we get TJ Ford as well in this trade?

Let's just hope Q-Pon and/or C-Brack can run the point

No, he makes $8.5 million so the salary wouldn't work. Not to mention it sounds like these players may be all that's involved.

Anyone have a list of FAs available? Chris Paul is coming off a knee injury, I don't think we're going to go into the season with Marcus Thornton at backup PG

Collison is a role player on this team with a healthy CP3, we can't afford to waste him on our bench. If we're keeping CP3, we had to trade Collison, you know it and we all know it.

Well, I think this will give us a somewhat better starting five. I hate to lose Collison but who knows how he'll turn out. He was our trading chip to unload Posey.

Not a great, blockbuster trade, but it makes us better. I think they'll find a backup at point. And they're probably not through dealing.
