Pretty interesting trade. I think it is a pretty good deal for the Hornets. I love Collison and hate to see him go but Ariza is a young guy who upgrades the 3 and has a pretty decent contract. Plus they dump a bad contract with a couple of years left in the deal. I'd be against it if it were for Collison straight up, but with Posey leaving, I think the Hornets got pretty even value here.

The one thing that scares me is that I think Morey is a great GM and I don't see why he would want to take Lee for Ariza here.

Whatever value collison has, it's cut short when we throw a posey contract in the deal.

if you're dumping Ariza to pick up Courtney Lee - who very well may play the same position in Hou - what does that mean?

Because he knows that Ariza is best suited to be a bench/energy guy. He found that out last year and he isn't affraid to admit to his own mistakes.

Lee would just add to an already deep bench.

Brad Miller
Kyle Lowrey
Chase Budinger
Courtney Lee
Patrick Patterson

That's a pretty solid bench to compliment Yao, Scola, Battier, Martin, and Brooks.

I don't think Ariza would be a bad fit at all in NO, but he's not a 10x better scorer than anyone in the league. Trust me.

You guys have CP3 and West. Hopefully Thornton steps up to be the 3rd option so that Ariza can be that energy guy (which he's been opposed to, btw).

as the 2nd scoring option on a team with a PG that doesnt pass the ball.

That's not his role.

He shoots 45% this year or higher. Book it.

it depends because there are probably some other parts of this being worked out...as of now we have 1.5 mil less by dumping posey and collison's low contract.
