GSW: Jrue, #13

Mag: Wiggins, Randle, #2

NYK: Ball

Pels: Issac, Gordon, 23 Magic 1st, 21 Minny 1st, 21 NYK 1st, 25 Warrior 1st

I know we’re just fricking around here, but I don’t think magic would do that.

Yeah Orlando is giving up way too much in that deal. I could see them getting involved as a third team though if they feel Wiggins is a better fit next to Isaac and Vuc than Gordon is. It's hard for me to envision Orlando trading Isaac much less him AND Gordon.

Yeah there's no chance in hell they do. Even with Issac's injury issues, there's no way they part with him.

I think OKC would need the 8 and Pels the 13 to have any chance of making that work...but my ears are up.

So some of y'all would rather trade

Jrue and JJ for Andrew Wiggins >

Lonzo, JJ, and picks for Lavert / Dinwiddie??

Several of y'all told me we shouldn't trade for an over paid player or expensive vet in another thread but are on board with this???

I’d rather the future picks. I’m not trying to overpay for Dinwiddie and Allen after next year. Lavert is solid but he’s a iso ball dominant player. We have that already. If I’m picking between those two options, I’m picking the one with a lot of valuable picks and cap flexibility.

ETA: I’d rather ship out Wiggins though.

In what world is paying Andrew Wiggins 31 million for 3 years cap flexibility?

Lavert averaged 18/4/4 a game and cost 17 million for the same 3 years. Dinwiddie has a player option in 2 years at 12 million. We also may be able to do this while keeping Jrue.

So Dinwiddie and Jrue would both finish their contracts in 2 years and free up 40 million instead of being stuck with Wiggins for an extra year.

I would be willing to sweeten the Deal for the Magic to make that happen.

I still like Jrue, but can understand him being on a different time table. I still think Lonzo has potential and may end up being on a reasonable deal.

Thunder - Wiggins, Darius Miller, #13
Knicks - Lonzo Ball

What about a much easier trade:

Pels- Chris Paul, Miami 2021 pick
OKC- Jrue Holiday, JJ Redick

OKC should be looking for picks. Not Jrue.

You get an actual point guard and leader, and a future draft asset. You trade Jrue before he leaves and you get nothing (or before you over pay him). Very likely JJ leaves after next year anyway. The young guys on the team need someone to show them how to lead. I would do that trade 100 times out of 100 over taking on Wiggins’ contract for 3 years and landing the number 2 pick in a crapshoot draft.

Are we sure that’s what they want? Maybe with the step that they saw SGA take, they are ready to build going forward? They already have a treasure trove of picks from the George deal.

True but then there's no way they trade CP3 to a division team.

If we are going after a max contract all star player than I'd rather trade for someone younger. What was the point of getting 4 1st for AD and all our seconds? We aren't drafting 20 players in 5 years and trying to get more draft picks.

Jrue is the best trade asset for an all star already. I'd rather shop Lonzo, Jrue, Redick, and our 1sts for a superstar before trading for 35 y/o cp3 worth 40 mil, Andrew fricking Wiggins at 31 mil, or worthless draft picks that we already have a ton of.

I guess I just feel like we already have 2 future superstars on our roster (BI and Zion). They just need to learn how to win and how to lead. Paul can show them how to do both of those things. He could also help with the development of Lonzo.

It’s a bad trade. You’re giving up 2 valuable assets for a 35 year old pg making 40+ mil each year for the next two years and a Late first round pick. I don’t mind getting Chris Paul but there better be more picks involved with that trade
