I’m starting to get nervous as frick. I didn’t like this deal though I can stomach it. I really don’t like the Love idea. Seems to be shooting low and the same type of bullshite we did in Davis’ early years.

If this cap space turns into Vucevic or something like that though...

but I think garland is going to be a perennial all star.

well perhaps this was all legit bullshite smoke screens if ATL is going to pick hunter at 4

as in, garland isn't really that valuable (so 4 isn't that valuable)

Based on what we "know" now, we're guaranteed one of:

Culver, Garland, Coby White, or Reddish at 8.

I'll take it

the problem is that it's likely Reddish and he's terrible

the draft falls WAY down after 7

I like the deal. I love it if we still end up being able to get Culver. But at 8 can also go boom or bust with Reddish or Sekou if Culver is gone.

I think for everybody melting in here, they got their hopes up for deals that apparently weren't on the table. With Atlanta people got used to thinking it would be 8 and 10. So when people seen 17 they were let down and insta melted. But in reality this was a good deal.

Thought griff was quoted as saying he didnt want more draft picks, wanted players to build around. Well that went out the window

I hope this turns into Johnson from UNC. He could be our Klay Thompson.

I'm ok with the deal. If there were a difference maker at four, Griffin would have stayed there. Pretty simple. I'm sure he knows a lot more than a lot of the people here.

Langdon will make his money with the 17 and 35.

A lot of people seem to be passing on garland maybe just maybe he’s not as good as the YouTube scouts think

Garland has some impressive skills but he also comes with red flags and I really don't like the Klutch factor. How long would they let Garland stay in a 6th man role before stirring shite up? If you draft Garland you'd eventually have to trade one of Lonzo/Jrue on Klutch's timetable, not Griffin's.

I also don't get why people are acting like the Pels settled for this. If they took the deal early surely it means this was the best deal available and/or it ties into other goals. Maybe it was the only move to clear the cap space they wanted so the move is 8 + 17 + Higher tier FA + future pick instead of taking someone at 4 and having just $19 million in cap space and getting a lower tier of FA.

Or it could be all about creating cap space for Kevin Love

This board is filled with morons now I guess.

It’s funny how people that write about basketball for a living are praising the Pelicans for this move but dummies on a message board are upset

Could this trade be setting us up for a sign and trade for Bradley Beal and we needed the cap space for his contract? Send them Lonzo and some picks?

Cleveland has announced they are taking Garland at 5 but are still soliciting offers for the pick.

Danilo Gallinari has stripped off along Clipper references from his profile. Suggests he is expecting a trade soon.
