Zion Williamson (foot) will be re-evaluated in two weeks and there's no return timetable for now, Pelicans' David Griffin says.

“No fixed timeline”for return to game action. Next scans will be 2-2.5 weeks.

Zion will get another series of medical tests done in 2, 2.5 weeks. He is not able to play 5 on 5 right now.

So if I'm interpreting all this correctly, he will not do 5 on 5 until the next set of scans in two weeks.

They will want him doing 5 on 5 for at least two weeks I would think.

So he will miss AT LEAST 3 weeks of the season.

That snake oil motherfricker really did slime the fanbase again.

I'm sure his Stans will come run to his defense, but there is no justifiable reason for how he has handled this. And to me, all signs point to part of the reason being intentional deception....Or incompetence to the point it's indistinguishable.

David Griffin on Zion: "There is no fixed timeline for his return to game action, but the doctors are encouraged by this last batch of images (taken Wednesday)... doctors will take additional imaging 2 to 2 1/2 weeks from now as guides and landmarks for taking the next steps."

Griffin: "It's everyone's goal that Zion return to play as soon as is safely possible. Obviously 2 to 2 1/2 weeks from now means he won't be on the floor for the first week of (regular season) games. When he's able to return safely, he will do that."

I believed with both my heart and my mind that Zion would be ready for Game 1. No lie was committed, no transparency was lacking. The future is a mystery to us all, and the measure for which we are judged need not be how many targets we hit, but how straight our arrows fly.

I don't even care about zion's injury.

I'm just tired of this dude getting fatter and fatter.

This reads to me that Zion went to outside doctors, not team docs, and is using his own doctors, which is good, but not good.

I don't know how it could be good. If he picked his own doctor, it's probably his completely unqualified uncle.

2.5 weeks means somewhere around the 1st of November. We start a 4 game road trip on the 2nd. If he came back the first home game afterwards, that would be the Thunder on the 10th. He would miss the first 11 games. That sound about right?

It's good because he cannot blame the team docs for anything. Only good about it.

2.5 weeks is just for the scans. He would still need to be cleared for basketball activities, cleared to go 5 on 5, and cleared for contact. It's going to be way longer than 2.5 weeks.

Shitty thing is this feels like AD redux.

Main guy getting hurt and costing us seasons, then, while away, starts realizing everything is harder in Nola because the team around him can't win without him. But also can't build ideal synergy or rosters wheny our main guy can't stay on the court. So annoyance continues to build up in a place you are already skeptical of.

So increasingly the thought becomes 1.) I need to go somewhere where I have better players and a fresh start 2.) Absent that, if I have to drag a team to .500, rather be in NY or something.

Dude can't even stay healthy in the offseason. How will he ever imaginably stay healthy in-season? Oh thats right, he will move on to another team and then be in perfect health for the last 10 years of his career
