2.5 weeks is just for the scans. He would still need to be cleared for basketball activities, cleared to go 5 on 5, and cleared for contact. It's going to be way longer than 2.5 weeks.

He's cleared to run so in theory he can get in conditioning over the next 2 weeks. But yeah he will need to be 5 on 5 for at least two weeks before he plays, one would think.

So he's out the next month...and was supposed to be play in like 5 days.

Maybe he’ll get cleared in 2 weeks and then we can let him come back slowly by letting him play in short bursts…

We obviously don't know exactly what type of surgery he had, but this timeline is literally months behind the time it took other nba players to come back from the same (reported) injury.

Not the news we wanted but at least we get to see the Pelicans bloggers cry on social media because the white man lied to them again

It took him like 6 weeks longer than most players come back from a meniscus. Maybe longer.

So either he is extremely lazy with rehab or he heals slowly.

Griff clarified today that "his timeline should get him back on the court in time for regular season" comment meant any time during the regular season, not the start of the regular season.
This might win the prize for the most LOL Griff comment of all time.

"No, actually I meant the injury isn't career-ending, you idiots. Duh."

It is pretty obvious seeing how he shows up every offseason overweight and out of shape

I don’t care about a lack of health on Zion’s part. I just know if he can’t be holding our feet to the fire to get to a certain level when he’s unable to assist in getting the team there.

Granted. It’s all second hand hearsay. But too much smoke abounds.

Had a 12 game package in 2019 and did another this year primarily to see Zion. I legit feel a bit hoodwinked on the 2021 tickets.

But he can and the media spin doctors will shite on us. It’s bullshite, but I got a sinking feeling we will look back and realize this was the first big boy move to GTFO of NOLA.

A couple people wanted to try argue there is no way that was in Griff's mind when he hid the injury and, after confirmation today, intentionally spoke in easily misinterpreting language with plausible deniability during the press conference about Zion's timeline for return.
