Hopefully, Dyson takes most of Naji's minutes

I swear I think some of you must not watch games if you think Naji is a liability for the Pels.

In the interview, he said he was still getting his conditioning back.

He also added that he put on 5 lb of muscle while he was out, lifting.

Against good teams, Naji is neutral at best. He’s not good enough defensively to guard other teams best players, and he’s not good enough offensively to attract any attention from defenses.

Doesn’t mean he’s bad, but there shouldn’t be an over reliance on him come playoff time or the regular season for that matter, which I believe Willie has done in some stretches.

He won't take many of najis minutes, he'll be on the court taking jv/Nance minutes and we'll run z/ingram/trey at the 5 more.

I think you can make that argument for Dyson as well.

I love Dyson's defense, but his presence on offense can really bog things down, especially for Zion in the paint, because teams don't even bother guarding him.

I think that the rotation will depend on the matchup. When we face teams that have an elite backcourt, that's when Dyson's value really shows. Remember how Herb and Dyson just completely shut down the Mavs?

Naji is a quality defender against bigger wings.

JMO...I think the Pels have a very high opinion on Dyson's future value with the team. They desperately want to develope his offense to the point he can play full-time alongside Herb.

You need more than one...very solid defensive player, in your core...to be a serious threat. If we only have Herb...he is easily avoided at crunch time.

Plus, for instance, in a situation like the Clips game the other night...we basically didn't even allow Herb to guard either of their 2 main threats, Kawhi and PG...for the entire 1st half because we were worried about foul trouble and Herb not being able to go "full Herb"...down the stretch. Having Dyson will make all the difference in the world...when it comes to our defensive flexibility.

If Dyson comes back two weeks from today against the Suns, that would give him eight regular season games to get his rhythm back before the playoffs.

Eight games is a good number. If it were only four or five, I would be concerned. When he got hurt, Dyson was just starting to get more confident on the offensive side of the ball. If he's going to be effective for us, then we need a confident Dyson who doesn't hesitate.

Quick recovery from injury and adding 5 lbs, couldn’t hope for any better.

All he has to do is improve two things.

Knock down wide open 3s at around 35 percent.

Go to the basket hard like he did on that dunk he had (I forget which game). Even if he misses it, just go hard and none of this Lonzo Ball/Austin Rivers bitch shite at the rim

I think this is expecting too much of him at this point.

This is a crazy take for a 2nd year player who just turned 21 yesterday. JV didn’t start shooting 3’s until year 6 of his career and he has shot 35.6% for his career from deep. This is just hating at this point

I should be clear, I think it's too much to expect for him to suddenly become a 35% 3-pt shooter upon returning to the lineup this year.

But also, I don't really have high hopes for his shooting to become that much better than it is now.

Cleveland game could have looked alot different if you've got two guys that can play perimeter defenze on Mitchell/Garland/etc

If you get matched up in a 7 game series with the Clippers, you need more than Herb to try and slow down Kawhi/Harden/George

Dyson isn't making that big of a difference in that game, considering that we still would've had to actually attempt 3's.

Yeah we would have still lost but it would have been more competitive. Dyson would have challenged a lot of those 3s which sometimes looked wide open for them.

He may have offensive issues but hes one of the league’s better defenders. This is a dumb post.

Great. If he had a consistent shot
I’d light fireworks.
