Willie Green said Dyson Daniels, Herb Jones and Larry Nance were all able to go thru a full practice today. Green said Daniels still has some work to do before they're ready to clear him for game action, but he's moving in the right direction.

Just in time to join Herb in locking down people in the playoffs

So what do you guys think the rotation looks like once Dyson is back? There's really not many good games to draw a conclusion from.

In Dysons last two games prior to the injury Naji was out for both.

The game prior to those two was a 38 point win against Toronto, so hard to take really anything from that as rotations weren't true to what you would see in a closer game. Jose, Trey, Dyson, and Naji played close too if not more minutes than Zion, Herb, CJ, etc for example.

The game prior to the Toronto game was a 1 point win vs San Antonio, but Herb did not play in that game.

Game before that was an 11 point win over the Rockets, where you had no Herb or Zion.

You essentially have to go back to January 29th against Boston, and even that's a little off probably. Zion only played 30 minutes, Herb 27 minutes, Jose was a DNP/CD. Trey 28 minutes, Naji 18, Dyson 14.

I guess my point is it's going to be hard to find minutes for all these guards/wings.

I look at that last rotation spot or 2 as a split between Jose/Naji/Dyson more or less. We also have seen the team go no center multiple times recently. That would open up more minutes, and with Dyson being one of the better rebounders and capable of defending some bigs, he may find some minutes at the expense of JV/Nance too.

In the playoffs, we know Hawkins won't be part of the rotation. Hopefully, Dyson takes most of Naji's minutes, but Willie Green probably won't do that. Sadly, he will probably cut into Jose's minutes more than anyone else.

Jose has been such a positive recently I really don't want to see his minutes taken. He also really works well with Zion and Trey. He pushes the pace and gets those guys into a good rhythm.

Let’s goooooo. I had a feeling inside Dyson was a superhuman healer. Can’t underestimate how valuable it will be to have that extra elite defender available

Dyson may get some spot minutes in the playoffs, but one-way players get nailed to the bench for the most part. He’s a one way player.

Assuming we go 8 deep it Nance, Trey and Jose.

Would love to see Hawkins get some PT, but that clearly is t going to happen either.

He balances out Herb if he gets in foul trouble so it allows him to play aggressively. And he is insurance for the times when CJ gets abused on defense. He's a chess piece that can be effective infused strategically.

That's pretty surprising, he has to be way ahead of schedule.

Good for him and us. Gives us another defensive option when we need it.

Frankly, he's probably our 3rd best post defender this year. He has gotten matched up with quite a few bigs and basically shut them down for stretches. He just understands defensive leverage better than most NBA players.

That Aaron Nelson firing paying serious dividends this season. That fricker would have had him out till Christmas with his injury.

Do you want to take away minutes from a bench wing player who’s:

Good at defense
Solid rebounder
Good passer
Good assist to turnover ratio
Can attack the basket and score
Shooting 39% from 3
Stays healthy
High quality locker room guy

Because that’s what Naji’s doing this year. Dyson will get some regular season minutes but I don’t think he gets many minutes during the playoffs unless Naji’s production starts tanking.

Dyson cutting into CJ’s minutes during the playoffs is ludicrous. Rotations tighten up bigly. Let’s check back in on this in late April and see who is right.

The way Larry has been more down than up, I wonder if Dyson as the small ball 5 would be better than Larry most nights.

That could be his biggest contribution in the playoffs. Remember against the Spurs right before his injury, we went small with Dyson on Wemby with a good bit of success.

He also damn near shut down Gobert around that same time.

Listening to Dyson, he says he's a week or 2 away from playing. That answer came responding to someone quoting Willie as saying he's about a week an a half away.

I'm assuming since he's back at practice he has to handle contact and get in some semblance of game shape
