People really don't know how RFA works

Lost Zo for Satoransky, Temple, and a 2nd
We lost Zo because we didn’t pay him 21 mill a year lol.
This board absolutely doesn’t understand sign and trades lol. It’s fricking hysterical

that being said, glad we have him. just thought it's a little bit steep of a price.
Half the price contract wise for the same numbers. We win in the end.

I said since the middle of last year that Graham was my preferred fall back option. Wasn't expecting to have to give up a 1st to get him though.

Do you understand who Rich Paul is?
Yes, he isn't fricking god, quite being a pussy, the rules of RFA still apply to him.
This has been a fricking disaster of a free agency.
Like utterly mind numbingly terrible.
Lost two first rounders and a pick swap to field a team potentially slightly worse or barely better than last season.

I don’t even like Griffin
But wut
And how do y’all expect them to build a team? Draft picks are great if you have time. Pelicans don’t.
They aren’t attracting FA’s.
So what do you expect to happen?

So far we’ve added two PGs, upgraded at Center, drafted one of the best 3pt shooters in the draft, and are more cap flexible for the future. We are a more veteran team and hopefully have a coach that clicks with the roster.
Still need a playmaking PG and a backup PF. Sato and Graham are good, but they aren’t starters.

AmI right in saying that we either make the playoffs next year or keep the pick.

I don't see why people are so mad about the pick. If the pick conveys next year that means we made the playoffs which means Graham was probably worth it.

Because of his good contract, he'll be easily tradeable when Kira is ready to start.
They must have grown tired waiting on Dinwiddie and went to plan c.

That’s a really good contract. We own a million picks and I’ve always said use them to get guys you like

They don’t. Apparently we could not have matched lonzo if we wanted. Only other teams can get assets in S&Ts

4/47.
That’s a good deal. Money is right.
quote:Yea, not sure what I'm missing. How does Zo go for nearly twice as much in salary but nets a backup PG+2nd round pick to Graham's 1st rounder?
1st round pick is…not great.

Graham off the bench at that contract is nice. Barely over the MLE.
Are you sunshine pumpers serious? A fricking first round pick, even if lotto protected, for a guy coming off the bench?

Start by not giving up first rounders to downgrade your roster?

Look at this melt.

You guys need to chill, just went over to the Charlotte Hornets subreddit and they are melting that we signed him for so cheap.

Would rather Bougknight, this is not good. Half the ppl on this message board could build a better supporting cast around Zion then this GM.

This is getting hard to read. We didn’t “take on” Sato. He’s an expiring contract with potential. Dude shot 51% from the field and dished out 4.7 assists in a season he largely came off the bench.
You can plug him in immediately and get to take a flyer at the same time.
Count him as a nothing acquisition, but acting like he’s a negative get is absurd.
