Yes. Yes. The more dominos that fall the closer Griff is to getting fired

Obviously we gave them the first so they wouldn't match at that low of a price.
People keep saying this. So why didn't we let Chicago offer Zo less money for a 1st coming back?

All day we were told S&Ts don't get much return, and we just gave a player with a deal almost half as much Zo's a better return. I'm still trying to figure out what I missed here.

Disclaimer: Again, at this price point I do really like Graham, that's not the issue.

I mean that's only a $18/year...could have topped that but I guess that 5th year was the seller

Graham for $11.75mil per when these other slapdicks are getting $18 is a win. He isn’t your traditional wing spacer but he can be a 40% 3pt guy with Zion almost over night

Go read other teams sports boards and media. They are all raving how we got a steal and that this is a good pickup for now. Some people here just only watch pelican basketball and it shows...

Because they knew we didn’t want Lonzo back especially at that price.

People can hate on Graham but you can’t hate on the deal. That’s cheap as shite for a consensus top 7 ranked free agent

Would you rather Derrick Rose at 3/$43M.?! C’mon

Griff has pretty much decimated our spare warchest pieces
Is it really a war chest if losing 2 1sts decimate it?

Dude I’m not seeing that anywhere. Granted I’m only on Twitter and Reddit but fans are clowning on us and rightfully so.

I see your point for sure but literally everyone in the league knew the relationship was done between us and Zo. Rich Paul I’m sure poisoned that well beyond repair. It is what it is.

43% on catch and shoot 3s last year for 9th best in the NBA and was 5th in the NBA in 3 pointers made two seasons ago. His production slipped a bit with Ball taking over last year but I think he’ll be really solid for us. Good move and an absolute steal at that price

It depends on how the rest of free agency goes...if we get, say, Harrison Barnes...yes, I don't see Devonte Graham being the starter because I would want NAW to start over him and would slide BI down to the 2 for that lineup. He will still get about 30 minutes a game. Don't get so hung on who "starts"

You're not wrong. And the team will likely be a good bit better. But getting a player like Barnes is going to cost another first.

But if you told me 3 weeks ago that we were about to trade 3 first rounders, I'd be expecting a major core piece like Sabonis, Sexton, etc. These are moves to get the 6th seed, not to truly compete.

People aren't coming to this free agency from a place of objectivity, they are coming at it from a place of wanting it to succeed, so people take the most rose-colored angle they can and start running.

It's the same way every offseason.

Frankly has been this way going back to when we signed James Posey or Tyreke Evans. People talk themselves into an inflated sense of the franchise every offseason, and then reality sets in as the season goes along.

We spent this offseason spending draft capital to undo our frick ups a year before and get some slight upgrades. We spent more draft capital to ensure we can at least field a team as competent as the one we let walk for pennies on the dollar.

They may be saying that about the Graham deal but most people know that the Pels have not done nearly enough overall

Okay, so force them to match. We just moved on from Zo for a second and Sato. Seems like a protected 2022 is a little high, no?
