I’m not suggesting he should , just wondering if it’s even possible. Like quit lifting weights, doing sprints, and just work on long, slow cardio and flexibility. Like slow jogging, walking, riding a bike, swimming, etc…to transform his body to where his natural body torque is moving less mass.

He could never pick up a weight again and still be strong as hell for an NBA player. Again, I’m not suggesting this is something he should do, just wondering if it’s even possible. Like a version of what Taysom Hill did a couple of years ago when slimmed down and gave up muscle/strength for flexibility when he was trying to win the starting QB gig.

Zion is such a athletic unicorn that there’s really no basketball comp, or any other sport, really. I just wonder if his body would even be capable of such a transformation, and if so, what would his game look like afterwards.

Of course he can. Lebron did it & it has prolonged his career.

Yes. It would take years. Which is why it should have happened way before now. 1-2lbs a months. 250ish is a reasonable compromise. He would still be the most muscular and powerful player in the league.

He could still be injury prone. Most players that live above the rim are. It's just hard on the body. The ones that last adapt..

He doesn't look fat, just big.

Lebum was never this big and strong, he has a different body type. Zion is more like a 6'6" Shaq.

He’s definitely pudgy. I love him but if he wants to play he’s got to lose 20 to 30 lbs.

i was disappointed when jamarcus agent held him out in negotiations with the raiders. he never had good advice.
many posters remind me zions team is amateur hour.
another reason to cut losses the minute he can play. theres nothing reassuring about it.
the laughing at cj did it for me. beavis and butthead.
posters seem to think you get a haul. great.

It’s great that people are STILL downvoting this after years of injuries.

It’s not going to work at 270-280+. It may work for a few weeks or even a few months, but it’s simply too much weight, running too fast and jumping too high with too much force. He needs to get down to 255-260ish tops.

Who's to say that's not the part of the plan? He went from 300+ to where he's at now in one year. Yal trying to do one extreme to another in a short span.

Bro it’s year 4 and he’s still 290

I think someone made the point that all he had to do is basically lose one pound a month the last 4 years and he’d already be 250.

Instead he has yo yo’d to 330, not once, but twice.

Id be interested to see what his training and diet actually look like. He definitely doesnt need weight training, more of just agility drills and yoga for core strength and flexibility.

In the interview with BI and CJ he made fun of CJ for doing exercises that strengthen your hamstrings and lower legs.
CJ pointed out in the interview that him and BI should maybe try it sometime.

Could he? Of course. Should he? Absolutely. Will he? I have my doubts he will ever be down to 270 or below.

30 lbs is NOTHING.

I’m a lean, short guy and I’ve dropped 30lbs before by focusing on running for 8 months. I didnt even have it to lose at the time and most people would have guessed 10lbs if I don’t tell them.

Zion could lose like 60lbs lol. He just doesn’t have the drive to do it.

Less than 120 games in 4 seasons. Guy is a 22 year old that got over $100 million already with endorsements and does not give a freak.
