Has a pretty quick release on that 3.

Seems like a very smart player.

Make it an added bonus that OKC drafted him, they have a good track record

No chance. Im not giving up the 8th overall pick for a 29 year old international rookie.

You're not giving up the 8th pick for him. It would be part of a bigger deal involving swapping #8 for #12 plus other stuff. I'd expect a future 1st and dumping Graham to be included as well.

Seems like good value especially if Pels don’t see much difference in the guys between 8-12.

Sam Hinkie drafted him when he was with the 76ers. He traded his rights to OKC.

8, Graham, and Temple for 12 and Micic.

Use cap space to sign Hart back.

Hart is still under contract

ETA: not to mention, you don't automatically get salary cap space just because you trade away salary.

I have seen OKC fans talking about this as well.

They are absolutely jonesing to move up to 8, and have totally given up on Micic coming over so they see him as worthless.

8, 41, Graham for 12, 34, Micic, future pick

Trade 34 and Hayes to the Jazz for Juancho (I like his stretch game)

Draft Dieng or Sochan at 12

Draft either a two-way or stash guy at 52

CJ / Jose / Kira
Herb / Micic / Temple
BI / Trey / Naji
Zion / Juancho / Sochan or Dieng
JV / Nance / Willy

Seems like too much to give up for Juancho. He's been traded for very little in the past.

Moving back to #12 is just tough because I feel like there's a real drop off after the tenth pick. Hypothetically Jabari, Chet, Paolo, Ivey, Murray, Sharpe, Daniels, Mathurin, Sochan, and Duren go top 10, and the Knicks go Johnny Davis at 11. That leaves you with AJ Griffin, Ousmane Dieng, Ochai Agbaji, Tari Eason, Malaki Branham, and Tari Eason? I'm going to mention him again below, but honestly I probably just swing for the fences and take Jaden Hardy.

Likewise with even #30, I feel like that puts you just slightly out of reach for guys like Lidell, Tyty, Kendall Brown, Jovic, etc etc. I really really like Jaden Hardy and Jalen Williams, but I feel like both those guys are candidates to climb up boards on draft night.

And likewise, some guys you are projecting as 1st round locks will fall precipitously. Happens every year.

I think this will be an on the clock type of deal, and the Pelicans will already have something worked out with Micic if it happens.

For instance, I think if Dyson Daniels is on the board, the Pels may stay put.

If he's gone and Shaedon Sharpe is on the board, OKC may really want Sharpe per some rumors, so they may be willing to go a bit all in to get him at 8.

I'm really down on Hayes so maybe a part of that is my perception of him.

Preferably I'd move a future 2nd with Hayes for Juancho (salaries basically match) plus you'd have to open the minutes...

Other thing would be to trade Hayes for future draft capital and use the current trade exception we have to bring in Juancho...

Effectively it's the same but "looks better"

Bunchie, I was reading Pels Report and it seems like the team really loves Dieng so yeah if Sharpe is there at 8 I could really see an OKC deal happening. Just a matter of how much they are willing to get give up to move up to that spot.

I would trade Hayes for a rack of basketballs at this point. I don't necessarily think he's that bad, but that next contract he gets will absolutely kill any value he has.

Right, he's not someone I feel comfortable signing to an extension. I don't think really thing he's all that conducive to winning at this point and then there is the off-the-court stuff that really hasn't settled.

All in all if you can get anything of value for him now, I think you do it. Having Nance and going to get a guy like Sochan really makes Hayes not necessary. That's why I want us to get a stretch 4 for the bench (I think Trey is more of a 3) to replace him with

I'm definitely willing (and we probably need to) to move Jax I just think they can do a little better than that.

So, the trade that Shamit and MM proposed? I know nothing about Micic (yesterday was the first time I heard his name), but a 28-29 year old foreign player who has been unable to come to the NBA for years does not get me overly excited as the centerpiece for such a trade down. Unless the Pels are dead-set on dumping Graham's salary now, I would not do that deal. Too much of a potential dropoff from 8 to 12.
