Anyone know what Portland fan’s view are of this trade?

Were they happy to see the back of him and the big contract or did they feel they are losing an excellent player ?

A lot of what I have read on various boards indicates that many are happy with the trade. They knew he had to go and were shocked they were able to get a 1st in the deal. Maybe they are looking at the lack of return they got for Powell and surprised they got at least some value for CJ and his contract.

According to Pincus both teams waived the requirement for physicals.

All three should be suiting up tomorrow.

Hart has bad knees and Mccollum barely has a lung. I get it.

The fact that Portland didn't care to look at Hart's knees, makes me believe they don't view him as a long term piece. .

Portland has every intention of waiving Hart this Summer. They are looking for as much cap space as they can conjur.

And then we re-sign Hart to the MLE.

his current contract won't allow it.
if they pick up the 2022 option, he assuredly will decline the 2023 option. and if they dont, he's a UFA next june

he's a one-year player max either way

I could see us possibly make some margin move, like flipping Snell, Naji, or Temple for other spare parts. I'm sure Griffin is working the phones just to see what is out there.

But it more likely we don't do anything else, besides converting Jose from a 2 way to the active roster and then adding a 2 way guy.

I thought the 2023 year is for the same 12.9 mil as this year.

Why would he decline it?

If he continues to play like he did this season, which was a huge improvement, then you decline 1 year/$12.9mil to try and get a 4 year deal at $50mil+

He's not an elite dude who can still guarantee a big contract if he were to get hurt.

^^^^ what he said
the chances that he would see the third year of that deal were zero when he signed it
