No, it's collecting the best assets possible realizing that if they don't become quasi all stars then the odds are near zero that they will be playing on their 2nd contract with Davis and you want the guy that will get you the most in a future trade.

Back to OKC. As good of a young team as they are, do you guys foresee them having trouble keeps all the pieces together. Haven't really studied their contracts and I'm no expert on that stuff anyway. But I would be surprised to see them stay totally intact for too many years

Westbrook/Durant/Ibaka are locked up and not going anywhere. Presti will get a top 10 pick and shouldnt have trouble getting vets, even to OKC. And KMart's big salary comes off the books too. That said their back up perimeter players are woeful right now. Derek Fisher will see important minutes in 2013 playoffs.

The big problem for them is Perkins. They play him too many minutes when they would be better going small with KD at the 4.

Frankly, I wouldn't mind having their "problems".

From everything I have read, they are going to amnesty Perkins this summer. They'll probably draft the best Center available (Len or Zeller) and start Ibaka there in the short term. I'm sure Lamb and Perry Jones will start seeing some more playing time next year as well. I'd love to have their problems as well..

Interesting. Might be a worthwhile option for the Hornets if they dump Lopez.

Completely forgot about those guys.

I'd be happy if Dell is just half as lucky and smart as Presti has been.

Meh. He screwed up dumping Harden, though

He had a choice of Westbrook, Harden, and Ibaka.

I liked Lamb going into the draft but Lamb and Jones is nothing for an olympian, all star, and probably the best SG in the league going forward.

Shitty attitude and a very high "bust" potential.

He seems like a guy that will easily butt heads with Monty, especially when he gets all pouty because he'll be the 4th or 5th option at best.

What is the boards opinion on what Demps can get for:
1) Gordon 3 years/ $14.3 Million
2) Vazquez and Lopez packaged together or seperate

Personally would love it if the Pels get the right bounce and get the #3 pick and draft SF Porter.
Trade Gordon, Lopez, and Vazquez to maybe say the Kings
and get their pick and Tyreke Evans who they are openly shopping. Its not like they care I mean they ave T-Rob there #4 pick away.

Harden is better than Ibaka, but Westbrook is better than Harden. 3 max wing players is dumb. You want to argue that he pulled the trigger too early, fine.

But he got a good vet, cap relief this summer and two lotto picks to a Western Conference champion for Harden- who was never going to blow up like he has w/ Westbrook and Durant on the team.

If anything, he blew it by not dumping Perkins

Again, if Demps is half as lucky and half as smart the Pelicans future is bright

I think Harden's better than Westbrook. And has a much better temperament.

Westbrook gets to the playoffs and forgets he's Pippen in OKCs Jordan/Pippen situation.

Hes a volume scorer at pg who doesnt give a frick and it drives people crazy, but he gets more assists and has the same # TOs as Harden. Hes a much better defender too.

Harden is without a doubt the better scorer

We can do a S&T for Evans, and we can trade for the Kings' pick, but we probably can't do both.

It's pretty hard to do a S&T before the draft.

Regarding the BPA debate, I think the Pels should draft the BPA as long as that person is not a PF. If you have two potential picks who grade out the same, then the tiebreaker is which plays a position of more need.

Right now I'd say the biggest hole is SF. C and PG could use upgrades, but aren't nearly as big a need as SF. SG will depend on whether EG is traded. PF is set.
