Yea Ibaka does a great job. But getting Len will allow them to have 2 good post players.
And they don't need a Dwight Howard type guy. Just need someone better than Perkins. And getting another young guy that has a good looking future will help.
No, it might not make them better than the Heat over night. But if you're OKC you don't need to try and find that guy that will make you better than the Heat in the blink of an eye. You are still a young team. KD is 24. Westbrook is 24. Serge is 23. They are amazingly good for how young they are, but they aren't close to their prime yet. In 2-3 years they will be. And add a young good C prospect to help them out, look out.

I love Vasquez. So don't get me wrong. But honest question, where do you rank Greivis Vasquez amongst the starting PG's in the league? There are 30 teams in the league, and he is 21st amongst PG's in PER, and probably the worst defensive starting PG in the league. Could he possibly be the 6th worst PG in the league? To match the Hornets 6th worst record in the league? I would say it's close.

All Ibaka has to do is whip out his third leg and the opposing team will run.

I never even thought about this. But now that I think about it, you're exactly right.

Pointless endeavor is pointless. The only thing that matters is the cost of improving. What "better" PGs are available and how much more will they cost? Would that money not be better spent on a position that we are weaker at?

PER is a goofy stat that only really helps separate the best from the rest.

Okay, so you are saying he is worse than every starting PG in the NBA?

This is just a downright stupid statement. I take it you think Anthony Davis is the 6th worst PF in the NBA....

I don't see Alex Len as the answer for making them better than the Heat
This is a goofy qualifier. There isn't a player in the entire draft that instantly makes them better than the Heat.

Sorry if I don't accept gross exaggerations as truth. The dude is one of our 3 best players this year, but people want to degrade his play daily. It's fricking stupid.

That statement goes for about half of our roster.... Let's get a hard-on for replacing one of the only solid performers and leaders we have, though.

which is why we need to replace literally every position except PF
Posted on 4/9/13 at 5:12 pm to Jester
it's just really funny that people bitch all season about one of the few good players on the roster.

and you can't do it in one off season. so you start piece by piece. with the position of most need. which isn't PG.

Well like Fletcher said earlier today, If we dont get someone good in the draft and dont do anything great with EG and sign a good FA than it's bye bye demps and monty

You don't not draft a player because of Greivis Vasquez.
BPA for this franchise. And the Pelicans are very fortunate that there aren't many top PF prospects in this draft.

If the best choices of picks 6-8 are Burke, Olapido, and Len you take Burke with absolutely to hesitation
And that's really all there is to it
And that's really all there is to it

Back to OKC. As good of a young team as they are, do you guys foresee them having trouble keeping all the pieces together. Haven't really studied their contracts and I'm no expert on that stuff anyway. But I would be surprised to see them stay totally intact for too many years
