I agree with everyone that says Tatum and the Memphis pick are the two musts or the Pels hang up on them.
I think Ainge starts with Tatum, Smart, Horford and their 1stRd pick and the Clippers pick
Pels counter back with Tatum, Smart, Brown and Clippers pick and Memphis pick
Eventually they agree on Tatum, Smart, Horford and 1stRd picks from Memphis, Clippers and Boston

Am I crazy for wanting Smart and a pick more than Brown? I still feel like there's this leadership void and Smart + Jrue seems like it'd be enough to steer the Pels into a tough nosed defensive identity. I also feel like Smart would make it easier for Jrue to take over the leadership mantle.

lineup fit is going to be a big factor.
without horford (or another similar big) i dont think you can play brown & tatum together, but you could with smart

Not at all, I lean toward Marcus Smart too, esp since he's cost controlled, is more of a ball-handler than Brown, and can pretty much guard anyone on the court. He's also got the fire that Jrue does and I'd just love to see them together

the flip side is that jaylen brown is an exponentially better shooter, can play/guard 2/3, is 6'7" 220 with room to grow, and COULD POSSIBLY be a team centerpiece

Celts would likely rather give Jaylen than Smart, but it makes the salaries harder to match. They will probably use their MLE to overpay some slob at the buyout deadline and non-guarantee the 2nd year.
Tatum, Jaylen, MLE guy, Robert Williams, Grizz pick, 2019 Kings pick. Grizz pick is currently top 8 protected, top 6 in 2020, and unprotected in 2021. If it comes in top 4 or 5, possible Memphis would trade it for the rights to the 2020/2021 pick.

True. I guess you can move forward with 2 different trains of thought.
One would be asking who do you think pairs better with Tatum & Jrue? So that you're not overpaying someone on your bench. In that case, I'd say Smart
The second line of thinking is, I don't care who pairs better, Brown has better upside and we will figure out fit later. Worst case, is that we flip him later

Offer will be centered around Brown unless AD commits to play there. Two draft picks, the rest really doesn’t matter. Brown can be a jimmy butler type player.

Not at all. I think you risk losing Brown if you get both him and Tatum given that they both play the same position. At what point does he want to detach himself from Tatum and go his own way? Given the choice Is rather Smart.

Jrue isn't a leader and has explicitly stated he doesn't want to be.

NO, not to me, smart is a great team player who plays hard even after his new contract. He and Jrue would be great as long as they have a shooter or two around them. Good to see Smart shot improving as well.

They can't send us Hayward or Horford without us sending out Solo or Moore.
What I would love to get from them is Tatum/Smart/Brown/Williams and the Clips&Sacto picks

Also i'd try to S&T Vucevic in the offseason getting rid of Solo. Bring Randle back as 6th man with Okafor.
