Dream is Tatum smart, brown and 3-4 1st rounders.
Will likely end up being tatum, brown/smart, and 2-3 1st rounders.
If that's it I'm taking that deal over anything that's not a zion pick.

Anything of value after Tatum is just lagniappe I’m happy with honestly. I hope the pels feel the same even if it’s tatum, prospect, 1st, salary.

here's the issue. Zion has a high floor and a very high ceiling. Sure he might turn out to be a poor man's Blake Griffin/Julius Randle. But while I feel like I'm not 100% sold on him, I also cannot be the team that passes on potential like that.

He's a great prospect no doubt. My only reservation is him going to the NBA where everyone he plays against is a super athlete and I'm always concerned about a possible injury for a guy who's a freak athlete. Should that happen, what would his game be like after?
I agree though, you better nail the pick if you pass on him.

True Ja is filthy but he plays sub-par talent so you have to wonder if he looks great because of his competition. He reminds me of DeAron Fox. Super athletic guard with great passing ability but does he have a consistent shot?
He could be great no doubt, but because I believe we need to hit on our picks, the uncertainty around his competition and his shot makes me weary of him

I think Ainge will start negotiations with
AD for
Brown
Smart
All the shiny picks and propsects/filler
OR
AD/Solo for
Tatum
Hayward or Horford (which ever they want least)
Sac and Clippers pick (no Memphis pick)
Danny's going to say if you want the Memphis pick you don't get Tatum. If you want Tatum you're not getting the Memphis pick and you're taking back a contract. I don't think he'd refuse to move off of these points if there was pressure to do so, like if New York had the #1 pick, but without that kind of pressure that's where I think he'll try and steer things.

That's what he will try.
I think Tatum and Memphis pick will be qualifications for us, and he will use that to give us those but less on everything else.

What is the 2019 Memphis pick? Top 5?

Unfortunately for Ainge the Clippers took quiet a bit of shine of the Clippers and Sacramento picks, so he may not have as much leverage as he hoped. But from his perspective look at the Arms Race that just happened in the East. He might feel he NEEDS to keep the Memphis pick to add another piece so AD doesn't walk even with Kyrie. I definitely think they at least keep Brown and/or Smart unless they really believe in Hayward's recovery.

The Memphis pick is nothing in 2019. It's stop 8 protected and Memphis just decided to start a rebuild which means they'll be bad enough to keep their pick. It's top 6 protected in 2020, but they are just starting a rebuild so they might keep it next year too. However, it's unprotected in 2021 when they should still be bad. 2021 is also the year One and Done ends and you'll have high school seniors who previously would have gone to college in the draft, so it's supposed to be a deeper "double draft."
It's the best pick Boston has to offer.
