NOLA not profitable?

Read it again. I said its not a super profitable city for an NBA team. Is sad, but a lot of people in south Louisiana don't care about the Hornets. Football will always be bigger around here. Look at LSU and you see the same thing.

This Cali businessman is 72 yrs old I doubt he'd buy a team just to wait till he's 82 to move them out west. Hell in 10 yrs the NBA would have a better CBA and possible room for expansion teams.

I know it's virtually impossible to do because mixing basketball operations and marketing to this degree is pretty much a non-starter, but having a high tempo, entertaining team would go a long way towards getting the average Joe more interested in the team. I know, just having a winning team gets people interested also and that's true, but this isn't the kind of market that is going to love grind it out basketball.

This is probably why the Hornets stayed after Katrina. Chris Paul is a huge reason the team stayed here. Hell, they were called the NO/OKC Hornets for a season before CP3.

A LONG TERM LEASE WITH THE STATE OF LOUISIANA.
Regardless of who buys the team, they won't be able to move it anytime soon.
Yeah, but I'd feel a lot more comfortable with a Texas based consortium than a California based consortium.

This Raj character had at least better have an awesome mustache like that Indian dude that's getting ready to snatch the Jags away from Jacksonville.
Posted on 2/23/12 at 7:03 pm to Mickey Goldmill
The article says it is Raj, who is 72.

Fun fact: This dude apparently owned a World League of American Football team from '91-'92 called the "Orlando Thunder" LINK
Apparently, this is the team upon which Coach Hayden Fox's "Orlando Breakers" team was based.
I totally just made that last part up, but it would be funny if true.

Raj would also be short for Rajinder. The Executive profile link to him shows his business connections...one of them being a "R S Bhathal"- who is 72. Rajinder K Bhathal is 54.
I might be wrong but unless he is a business connection to himself (or the site is wrong), he's 54.
