If you think about it, the BP spill may have affected the future of the Hornets franchise.

It definitely did. If Chouest ends up not getting or even getting the Hornets with a price of $370 million, he'd have probably been better off buying the team in April 2010 and eating Shinns debt. If he had done that, would that have given the franchise enough direction to keep the previous core together? It can't be easy to pull the trigger on such a large investment that is at least partially being made for emotional reasons, but Chouest may have screwed us all.

Here's perhaps the most important question. If the California group ends up with the Hornets, will the swimsuit mogul tamper with the Honeybees uniforms?

So it's not Raj Jr, it's Alex, and there is also a daughter Lisa. They both seem to run the swimwear business.

It's Raj . . . at least nominally.

From that NEGATIVE new Forum....

Welcome! Don't forget to add that dumb purpleman and the other clown that said Chouest would buy the team at full price.

I never said it was a definite, smh.

It appears that the new forum is run by the same group of self-righteous assholes who previously ran Hornets Report. I was dissed and super banned from that site. I wear it as a badge of internet honor. If you in any way crossed the opinions of the owners (who I came to learn are not exactly the brigtest bulbs in the chandelier), they absolutely could not handle it. They went into brain spasms and temper tantrums.

I saw that and didn't get why he was ripping you like that. Half of those people seem to be just miserable and loving it.

If you look at the person who posted it, he is not an admin or moderator, just a member. All sites have members that post stupid things (including HR.com and here). The guy who originally posted about Chouest was attacked by the members of HR.com so much, he pulled his post. I would not take it personally.

If you meant to respond to me, I assure you that my relationship with Hornets Report was . . . shall we say . . . complex.

Actually, HR.com deleted his post because he had no sources named or link or anything. Plus, it was all caps and made it sound like a done deal. The second thread made by someone else stuck because more details surfaced.

I had to make a name for the other site to defend myself, but probably the only time I'll post there. HR was being brought down by the negativity spewed by some of the new founding members of the other site. I'd rather not be associated lol.

I've been threatened multiple times in PM's because they didn't like the way I spoke to Harvey. I got a lot of messages from him and other admins that said "Do you realize who you are talking to? Watch yourself or you'll be banned. If it weren't for us, you wouldn't have a site to speak your mind" type of messages. (not exact quotes...)

Haven't been threatened since 247 took over. :)

People banned from HR don't make up the most exclusive club in the world. Lot of us out there.

I don't know which part is funnier, the part where they assume they're the only Hornets site in existence or the part where they think they let people speak their minds.

I haven't been banned from HR yet . But enough of this HR talk....

We can only control the long term prospects of our team by going to games. All we can do and I can't worry about it at this point. If we react negatively and get down in the dumps just because a new owner isn't local it doesn't do us any good. Let's just roll with it.

As for short term prospects: The thing I don't like about the deal is Dunleavy.

I do not trust him not to meddle with Demps, and I think most of us here think we've found a diamond in the rough in Dell. I have not been impressed with what Dunleavy has done in the past.

Ditto as well for that. I think the guy would be incapable of keeping his fricking hands off.

You clearly have had closer dealings with him than us. Is this based on reputation only or have you had direct dealings with him?

I think he's basing it on his past history as a coach and GM.

No direct dealings at all. It's just my observation and the fact he's so eager to be part of an ownership group. Given his experience and temperament, I think it will be very difficult for him to refrain from dabbling in basketball operations.
