I feel like you are a Boom alter, used to troll Pels talk.

the funny thing is that his "real" point (cousins will bail out as a FA) is at least possible and if you feel that way, fine. but ranting about how the pels "cost" cousins $30MM and thats why he will leave is just ridiculous

I didn't rant. I'm arguing against 6-8 people that don't know the back story, mocking me and calling me a liar. I pulled the quotes and then, total silence.
I get that you don't like how I put it and maybe you don't see the perspective of the Pelicans' role in his contract negotiation. Or how they could be negatively associated. But you are smart enough to see that his people advocated against the trade and made emphatic guarantees. Maybe they were bluffing or lying. But everybody else in the league believed them, hence why the price was so cheap. Does all of that mean nothing?

A lot of teams in this league are turned off by Cousins. I've heard it said that 10+ teams have stated off the record that they wouldn't sign him. He really wasn't traded for much less than Paul George or Jimmy Butler, though.
On another note, if you don't understand why his agent would bluff, then I don't know what to tell you. The Kings were going to trade Cousins, whether it was to the Pelicans or not. His beef should be with the Kings, if it's with anyone (which if you ever listen to him talk about them then you know that's where his beef is).

it meant something then, only in the context of convincing sacto to keep him and pay him. It didn't work
it means nothing now

That's because we got tired of this stupid argument. We all know the back story. Where the difference lies is the interpretation of those quotes and the motives behind it. As usual your analysis is so against the grain that it's hard to tell if you're a little crazy or a lot trolly. I think it's past time that we agree to disagree. Is Cousins a lock to resign? No. But if he does leave the Pels "costing" him that extension won't be the reason why.

This is suggested every year for almost every significant player. Rarely does it happen.

No man. You don't understand.
He's so mad at the Pels for "costing him money" by trading from him and taking him away from Sacto, he's going to take EVEN LESS money to sign elsewhere to spite them.
Makes total sense.

I don't understand how everybody just brushes it off. Gordon Hayward left the Jazz and took less money over a contract dispute in 2014. But if eveybody is so adamant about it, I'll drop it. Its kind of hard when someone posts an OP directly on the subject. But I'll try not to bring it up anymore..

Dude. Boogie may leave.
But it won't be because of your stupid reasons.
It will be because he feels like he can win more somewhere else.

Is that why he left the stacked Western Conference to go to the 1st place eastern conference team that employs his beloved college coach and is set up to succeed for the foreseeable future?

Pretty sure we all know the back story chief. It’s all public and general knowledge.

Yes, the only reason why he left
Would he still be on the Jazz if they offered him a 5 year deal in 2014? Yes, because he'd still be under contract. Does that mean that he would stay with them when his contract was up, if there was still a possibility of going to Boston? No.
There's definitely a possibility that Boogie leaves the Pels in the offseason, but it will have nothing to do with the fact that they traded for him last season.

Yeah bruh shame on us for not assuming he would tear his achilles two months later. What a bunch of idiots we are.

The next one I'm thinking about bumping is where I said that Rondo would get close to 10M this offseason and 10 guys jumping me, saying he would never get over 5M. But I was wrong on the Mirotic trade, so I'll eat that one..
